We had a good weekend this year with great weather for the whole meet. Nothing better than a line of Hudsons gleaming in the sun. This year we even had a 52 Hornet Convertible come out. Herb Walters brought his black Hornet convertible. Very nice to see Herb out. Ryan and Anne Ankney came back for another visit. Ryan brought his beautiful 53 coupe which was sporting a completely rebuilt engine that was a sight to see. The crowd really enjoyed seeing the big Twin H gleaming under the hood. Ryan got interviewed for an article for the paper.
Dennis and Elaine Whieldon brought a 49 Commodore 6 Coupe which was very nice and Romy and I had a nice ride in that during the parade. They also have a newly restored 34 Hudson 8 convertible which we really want to see come out one year. Elaine was extremely well informed about Hudsons which is great to see when all the family is involved.
Ed Klapstein was a new member of our line up this year. Ed was driving a 49 Super Six coupe which was a nice solid driver. Good to see new people at the event.
Paul Russel and Ross Anderson had called for info on the meet and made it out and came to find me which was very nice of them so we had a good chat. Warren Whale was back as well. Even though he was at another event he stopped in to see everyone.
Martin Tappert who is a show die hard came out in his beautiful 40 pickup I have to say this is a crowd favourite. It is so well restored its a show stopper.
The Callfas family came out in their 37 Terraplane coupe and Hornet sedan. Cary and Debbie Treasure never miss a meet and were in attendance in their beautiful french grey Hornet. Al brought out his restored 26 which is always nice to see those big 20's Hudsons. Dave Ferguson stopped by in his 52 Hornet sedan. Norm had his 30 Great Eight which is another crowd favourite people love to see that rumble seat coupe.
The three day event was much more relaxed with people arriving on the Friday to drop off cars and relax. The Leduc West people do such a great job every year its all volunteer labor and they do a lot of work in the hot sun and still pull off a great family event. Its nice to be out in the country every year for the meet. We were tenting and the cows woke us up each morning which was fun. Loads of other things to do and see at the meet and lots of other cars to see this year was 80 years of Model A so the field was full of Henry's creations.
And finally a node to Wave and the Mustang club they came out and were super supportive of all brands they came over to see the Hudsons and were general all round nice guys. Nice to see good people like that out at these events.
