Here, just about every car club, chapter, region, etc., has a swap meet or two every year. In addition, there are many private interests that put on meets all year long. The best ones seem to be at local fairgrounds and larger car shows. There, they have the luxury of space for vendors, show cars and parking. They are usually well attended.

As far as Hudson parts and related items are concerned, the best bets are national meets and Hershey. Merchandise availablity and prices vary depending on location, venue and, of course, the vendor. Finally, there is always Internet auctions and other sites. Given the effort and expense of doing swaps meets, more and more vendors seem to be going the Inernet route.

For example, this summer I came across a Net ad for a nice Hudson hydraulic jack, complete with decal and storage box. The price, shipped to my door, was essentially pocket change. Smile

The items are out there, you just have to be vigilant. In addition to my stash of NOS parts for my GM cars, I'm building the Hudson stash day by day. With some of my friends looking at buying truckloads of NOS parts, this may happen quicker than expected. Cool

Okay, so we live about 25 miles from Hershey, and around 60 from carlisle. Hershey is not a great place to find Hudson parts. However, if you are going to put the time into going to Hershey, then why not stay over until Sunday afternoon, and go to the local Hudson Chapter meet, where you will do 100 times better than you ever will at Hershey. The local hudson meet has all of the hudson parts in one small area, whereas, over 10,000 flea market stands, you might have 30 or so that have any parts related to what you might be looking for specifically. Hershey is an experience, that everyone should have, but you will always do better at a hudson meet.

Now, my next ascertion is that you will do better at a hudson meet that was on this side of the Mississippi River, versus the other side, and that's likely true as well, well, with exception to California, seems to be great rust free stuff out there, and a large following. Seems the epicenter for Hudson stuff is east coast, look at a sales brochure from the 50's that show all of the dealers, that's where the cars stayed. That's where the parts are. That's where the enthusiasts are.

National meets are the best. You will likely find anything worth finding there. Prices are reasonable, and parts are a plenty. In Pittsburg in 2004, we bought a to of parts, and went on one last buying spree the last hour as we were walking out, buying a coupe trunk lid, a 2 door door, a rear coupe window, and a hood. This was on top of the whole load of part we had already purchased.

I would put more faith in the meets where they cooorespond with dealers and sales originally when the cars were new. This years meet in Auburn should be good for parts. Next years in NE will be good. and Detroit will be great. mid west, no good. Plains, no good.

Regional meets are really good for parts as well. Doc's meet, coming up in a couple of months, has been good for me a hudsondad, and might be worth checking out.

Thanks for the info guys want to maximize my flying in to attend. Since I will fly in do not want to waste money on flight if I cannot hit good Hudson parts vendors. I do not need anything for my 51 Hornet as it is totally complete but like Dave I am stock piling parts for other cars I want to get. I want a stepdown coupe and a 54 sedan and 54 coupe. I want a 38, 39, 40, and 41 Hudson so I have been collecting parts of those just in case. Have my eye on a 40 just waiting for spring to drop in to check it out and if it has the feel I want I am getting it.

I have two 308's on the go one street 7X and one wilder 7X that I want to put in a 54 coupe. So lots of dreams and potential projects on the go.
