Liam here is some info on serial number for 1940
Super Six Victoria Coupe serial numbers started at 41-101
Hudson Eight Victoria Coupe serial number started at 44-101
The Victoria coupe was the upscale version of the coupe with a little better interior and trim.
Serial number should be located on plate on passenger side door pillar. Open door and you should see it.

Oooh, beautiful cars and wonderful weather, but I don't see a red 51 Hornet. The History of the Hudson Motorcar Company display looks really cool, top-notch.

The Mustang owner phoned me for info on the overall event and he turned out to be such a nice guy we were over jawing with him about cars. He came over and showed us the support. Good time.

We have the serial number but we wern't sure if that was the V.I.N. or not
but anyways here it is, 41-77266 ,if anyone can decode it it would be great

Yes this is the VIN it shows its a model 41 which is a super six Victoria coupe. 77266 is the serial number now this isn't a linear count of coupes it was just the next number in the series for Hudson as they built cars for 1940.

| wow! thanks thats great, the guy we bought it from kept calling it a model 41 but we wern't sure what he was talking about untill now.By the way is there any way to tell which paint colour the car came with what options it had and things like that?

We only had twelve cars this year which is a low turnout from our usual over 20 cars. But we are growing and we have people who come out each year that are new so when we add it all up its pretty good. The event is held at a country fair so there is tons to do and all the other car brands come out so plenty to look at.
For your car you cannot tell anything from serial number about paint or options. If you post pics we can take it from there and I have all the paint chips for that year anyway.

| ok thanks were picking it up on thursday, I know that the original colour was moroco red and there is still some of the original paing on the door pillars and in the engine bay. The guy we bought it from painted it a lighter colour but by that time the body had already been repainted.
