I am in need of two 213417 Gasket-Lens for the Parking Lamps on my 1950 Pacemaker.
I have tried the DIY foam from the craft store but "it just ain't right."
Not listed on K-Gap.
I want to try to help keep a Hudson vendor in business.

I would check with someone like Jim Harmon he will probably have what you need.

If you want to DIY, you can make your own from a sheet of thick cork gasket stock. Another option is the judicious use double sided emblem tape.

| I have tried the foam from the craft store. It just is not right, if you know what I mean. It works, but I know it is not a Hudson gasket, or even a repro.

I know how you feel. I'd rather have things as close to original as possible too. However, and since not enough people feel that way, demand for certain parts in the reproduction market is low. As such, they are not reproduced. So, we have to be creative and find our own way. I'll put on my "thinking cap" and will try to find a suitable alternative to the craft store foam.

When I took my dash gauges apart the cork was dried out. I bought a roll of cork gasket material and cut out replacements did it with a super sharp craft knife. Looked 100% like original just not dried out. I am guessing that you could make pretty darn near perfect replacements if you take your time and get the right material.
I also got a roll of the standard gasket stock my Dad had a set of gasket punches as he was always making gaskets he could not buy. With those two rolls I can make pretty near any gasket I cannot find.
I would agree craft foam is not the solution but most auto jobbers sell professional gasket stock in rolls. I say never be without it. Done right you would be hard pressed to tell the difference and most specialty tool stores sell gasket punches if you want to go the extra nine yards like me.

OK...So I will try the mouse pad.....
Can anyone provide the dimenisons of the gasket? Mine are too bad to get an accurate size.
Outside dimensions, the dimensions of the hole, and the distance between the outside edge and inside edge.
I have tried the template methode by laying the frame down and tracing around it, but that is not working for me either.

Why not just use the lense as your template?
