Rick Pridemore sent me a pic of the new replacement electronic distributor he is producing. Its a nice looking kit and will be nice for those who choose to convert to 12V and are looking to go electronic. As you can see the shaft is machined to fit a Hudson. If I were to go 12V I prefer a nice unit like this.

we need a 6V alternative...
nice, but a 6v would help me out.
Anyone using a pertronix on a IGS distributor?
I think I might have to swap out distributors, if it is possible, I think physically, they are a direct swap...

My 6 volt alternative is the NOS Mallory dual point distributor and Voltmaster coil on mine. Gotta love that 50's speed equipment.

I am running the 6V Pertronix and I love it. Smooth starts and the car runs more even. Better acceleration and ease of maintenance is great. $150 bucks and do not worry anymore. So we have that as a nice 6v solution. This kit is a nice solution for those using 12V. Nice to have a setup where the distributor is machined and a nice fit everything is tight and the guy producing it is running it on his Hudson. Rick says he will install in his car this week.
I will get one to experiment with. Always good to keep up on these things.
HK do not think you will have problems switching out the distributor. I think they offer a unit for the IGS distributor.
I read an online with this guy who has been running a Pertronix in his 65 Bentley for 5 years without problems he swears by em....
