Folks,

in the days when Hudson was a vibrant car company they had a strong sales division and in a stroke of good business planning they created the Hudson Sales Division which was a separate company that acted as a buffer between the dealers, buyers and the factory. If someone was sued for a bad car or a bad sale it was this division. Reading through my stack of literature from this era I see that it also was a very forward thinking division that put a lot of thought and effort into designing and distributing the best sales information and dealer courses of any of the car companies.

HSD contracted the Wilding Film production company to produce a series of courses and presentations on all aspects of Hudson sales and detailed information on the cars themselves. I recently came into possession of a large quantity of these presentations. They consist of a film reel and 16" inch transcription discs that you play along with the film. I now have both the films and the discs. 14 sets in total. Each film consists of over a 100 slides filled with factory specs, car info and how to sell these beauties to the public.

I have a complete reel on the history of Hudson racing that has pics I have never seen before. I am in the middle of digitizing all of the reels and discs. I then plan to reassemble the courses as a DVD special about the Hudsons. Its gonna take a while but I think well worth the effort. I will then make copies available exclusively to the members of our site here.

Stay tuned I will keep you up-to-date and I will post some of the samples here in this thread.

Yippie, some new (at least to me) Hudson advertising. Smile Finally, I can put working on the way back machine on the back burner.
