| OK, what, if any, original accessories do you think look good and/or are helpful on your Hudson? Which, if any, do you think are ugly or useless?

Accessories I like
If you have a sunvisor a guide traffic lite viewer is a must
Windshield Washer
side window shades
rear window shade looks cool and works
Oil filter this is better than nothing
Compass - what the heck looks good
Tissue dispenser I am waffling on this as it looks bulky but tissues in a car are good
Rear speaker kit is nice
Fog lamps - a must they look cool
Backup light - Safety and cool
Wheel trim rings a must
Wire wheels are cool
Exhaust Tip a must
Larger safety rearview mirror
Vanity mirror - Heck yeah I look good always
Convenience light group - Glovebox, underhood and trunk - Heck yeah
Undecided Need Convincing
Spotlights on door - Dragnet good but do I need them?
Hudson cooler and Thermos - Picnic maybe?
Hudson Coleman Stove nah...or maybe ummmm
Hudson Razor from Remington - Nah not me foil kills me
Curb feelers - Nah I can drive my car myself
Hudson car bed for late 30's and early 40's ummm maybe
Seat Covers ....could be
Useless
Battery Filler - even in the day this must have been a nightmare
Big cow catcher bumper guard kit - Maybe in Texas but not for me

Woo Hoo, I agree with all of your "likes" with a few adjustments:
I have the Hudson viewer but refuse to install a visor
I like the side shades but haven't decided to install yet
I don't think the rear window blinds would fit my rear window
Tissue dispensor fits great - oodles of room
My vanity mirror has a picture of a stepdown on it - So, I get to look at two handsome Americans when I use it.
Don't forget the hydraulic jack, extinguisher and spare air kit.
Of course, Twin-H, Hyrda-matic, PS and PB as available.
Severe useage parts...Yeah, a truck full please.
_____________________________________________________________
Spotlights - No way I'm putting holes in my Hudson
Hudson refrigerator, thermaster, grill, razor - Cool to display at a show
I like curb feelers but the wife said no - guess she thinks I can drive
Hudson bed - only if it looks like a Stepdown and will fit in my bedroom
Seat covers - For day to day use to protect the upholstery - sure

Battery filler was cool and worked if you added acid to it during winter so it didn't freeze.
Cow catcher bumper guards - no way - If I felt the need for additional crash protection, I'd find a way to weld a small steel girder behind each bumper.
I know Sean wants an under seat heater.

I did not mention PS, PB, Hydramatic, and Twin H because as you know they are options not accessories. I of course know that was thrown in to see if I was awake.

It's so hard to get one past you. I was hoping you were going to read that when you were sleep walking.

Along the line of Hudson accessories, and much in defense of Mr. Barit, he was so into helping war vets return to a normal life, he directed Hudson engineering to design what became the first truely functional controls for handicapped drivers. Again, Hudson lead the way.

Of the acessories that I've seen on a Hudson, I'd agree with:
Visors- yes
Viewer-yes
shades- yes, 4 door only
back-up lamp yes
foglamps-no
spotlights-no
tissue box, of course.
Windshield washer-yes
I don't recall seeing any of the others.
Wait a minute! Cow Catcher Bumperguards- No (unless for trips to Canada)

Moe,
The visors (steel sails) can be tricky at speeds above 45mph.
A well dressed Hudson never goes out without its foglights.
The more nice Hudsons you see, the more you'll see the bevey of accessories.
If you ever see a Hudson with the honkin' bumper guards, it is a sight you'll never forget.

Yeah they have Stepdowns with these big cow catchers on front. Don't know what that is all about even saw a Commodore with them on the back had to lean over them to open trunk.

Considering what the bumpers are mounted to, I think I'll go with my steel girder reinforcement idea. If I had a set of cow catchers, I'd bend them down and sharpen the ends.
