Here is a 40 coupe that has been hotrodded but not finished. I would say the BIN of 12.5K is fair because of rarity but I would not buy a rodded car. If it was an original coupe I would. Lousy pictures with this ad.

Oh, where to begin. This thing is a mess. I especially like the chunk of missing bondo and the rust peeking out.
Seller says, "Really good condition."

Ya, I guess it could be worse...especially if someone like the "Chrome Gnome" were selling it.

Like I said before I prefer cars in this level of resto. I only do complete strip restores so I don't care what state things are in if the body is solid and all the components are there. Just don't believe in piecemeal resto's it ends up taking you longer and more money than doing it right in the first place. My program is as follows:
1. Complete teardown
2. Media blast and dip body and or frame (depending on year)
3. Epoxy prime everything
4. Do all metal work and body prep
5. Once body is straight paint, colour sand and rub out
6. Complete all mechanicals and reassemble chasis
7. Put it all together and buff our body
8. Wiring and interior finished
9. All chrome and trim installed and polished to blinding shine
10. Drive with pride to shows and tell tall tales of how you airdropped into a remote canyon to retrieve car pulled it out on your back.
Not everyone will agree with this program but hey its what I do and I look good doing it.....

Makes sense to me. Are you sure you don't want to detail the engine and then get it full of dust?
So, when it the 51 getting the royal treatment?

And why not drive and enjoy it, the 51 looks good and you can park it anywhere. Once you've done the complete treatment, you probbly won't want to park it in the local grocery store lot.
