Folks,

here is a little guide to some of the nice features of our site. I will list the interactive features and how you use them.

News

If you look under Main Menu on the upper left you will see a link for news if you click on that it shows the news stories that have been added to the site. Below that is "Submit news" which allows you to add your own news to the site. Click this then give your story a title and choose which topic it falls under. I have topics for "Parts", "Engine Rebuilding" etc and when you fill in your story and hit ok it will send me an email saying you have a story ready to add. I give it a look over and hit post and your story will appear on the front page of the website.

Forums

The forums here are the quickest way to add content and ideas to the site. I have set them up to look like a Hudson dealership with Cars, Parts and Service. This was to follow the theme of a car related site. This is a good place to post ideas and opnions and look for parts and cars.

Gallery

As you can tell by the front page of the site we have our own galleries while you can post anything you want what I would really like to see are pictures of our members cars, so we can each see which Hudson model we have. I love to see Hudsons that I know my friends have, this makes us all part of the Hudson family.

Blogs

Blogs are all the rage on the Internet right now they have really blurred the line between news and mass opnion. At there best they will inform you in real time about events in a persons life. I added them to the site so you can use them as a online diary. This way its only your words and not others responding to you. I hope members who are working on Hudson restoration projects will take time to chronicle their efforts for the rest of us to follow.

Links

The links section is a nice place to add links to places on the Internet which may be of help to your fellow Hudson owners. As with all the sections of this site you can add links yourself and they will appear after we check them. I encourage our members to add links as this helps all of us find what we need to fix and maintain our Hudsons.

Tell a Friend

Use this feature to get the word out. If you know of other Hudson owners who might want to join our Hudson corner of the Internet use this to let them know. Its a convenient way of sending them a link.

Topics

Topics are a nice way to organize the information on this site. If you click this link you will see that it list all of the available topics and news stories related to each. If you think of a topic that would be useful to members drop me a pm or post it in the forum.

Private Messages

Private Messages or pm is a nice way for members to discuss things they want to say to a member directly. You may have a suggestion or a part someone is looking for and you can use pm to do this. Its quick and easy to use. And feel free to pm me at anytime if you have things to add or if you are having problems.

Search

All items on this site are indexed for easy searching. I find this is a rarely used but powerful tool that can be really helpful. When we get a lot of nice content and stories on the site using search will help you find what you need quickly. Choose to search the forums, gallery or search the whole site.
