I have a 1951 Hudson Hornet. It has 85,000 original miles on it. The interior is all original and in perfect condition. You can see it in the gallery and its also my avatar over to the side there.
I bought it in Quebec last year and I flew down and drove it across Canada back to Alberta. After the carbon blew out the engine purred the whole way home. In total I drove almost 3 thousand miles we took the scenic route and took our time. My brother and a friend came with us and we motored home in stepdown style.
Couldn't stop the car for gas without getting people coming up to look her over. A lot of people knew about Hudsons so I think I should be able to pickup some nice stories of Hudsons in Canada.
I was really amazed at how nice she was to drive the handling was superb and the 6 volt headlights were awesome. I had heard stories of dim lights I found that to be untrue with my Hornet the lights were very good.
We averaged 8 hrs of driving a day and the car did not complain once. Only problem was she leaks through the rear seal so I used a bit of oil on the way back.
After getting back I found it hard to go back to driving my brand X vehicle it just wasn't the same.

Here are a couple of pics of my interior its in mint condition. The headliner looks like the day the car left the factory.

Those are actually leftover from the old dude who owned the car before me he left them up on the package shelf. I left them because I like them and because you know I am a member of the Hudsonaires the world renowned barber shop quartet, so it fits my image.

I saw those hats too, they seem like they belong there. My Grandpa always had a few hats like that in the back of his Hudsons.
Of couse, he also had a dash compass and a suicide knob on the steering wheel...

Some old timers loved their hats. To them, you weren't considered fully dressed in public if you didn't wear your hat.

Those are my emergency hats in case I break down in a seniors community. I wear one and politely doff it when passing by. For some reason when I wear one I develop a soft southern drawl and am always asking after Auntie May. And what a fine time of the year for a picnic....

If those are your emergency hats, what do the non-emergency hats look like.
