I enjoyed the ad for this one. Seems the owner did a frame off restoration. I am wondering how he got the frame off a unibody car. Ah my, the silliness of it all. If its frame off it must be great.
Still a nice looking Jet.

What do you expect from someone who drives a red car with a blue interior? If the frame-off statement doesn't scare you, the following should:
Spent $15k on restoration, painted it himself and it's not perfect.
38-40 psi compression.
And what's with the blue hose/wire/loom theme under the hood?

And this Jet is back. Seems the seller had his computer hacked and the darn hacker ended the auction and sent out second chances. Hate those guys. Still Dave is right 38-40 is really low for compression the 202 should be sitting around 90 Ibs per cylinder. Guy said he did the paint job and body work and this statement scares the crap out of me "The frame was sandblasted and painted black before we put the body back on" we all know this is unit body construction you cannot take the body off the frame so either he means another car or he has a different idea of what body off frame means.

We all know that if the car is rotten enough, you can remove the body of a Hudson from its "frame." Maybe the poor guy is just confused and dazzled by the red/blue combination of the car and it's messing with his head.

Well its back. Thankfully he took out the section on the "frame-off" resto. He will have to rethink that 30-40 Ibs per cylinder stuff tells people the engine is shot.
I emailed the guy about the compression test telling him those numbers are very low so you will need to retest and post the correct ones everyone looking at this ad thinks the engine is shot. He emailed back he is going to test them himself as the engine has only 500 miles on it since rebuild.

If this car does indeed have compression of only 30-40 lbs per cylinder, a lawn tractor would blow the doors off of it. That assumes that a car with such dismal compression would even start. I'm sorry, but the red blue combo just drives me nuts. Maybe if he throws in a little more white, he can market it as a USA, Fourth of July special. Hurray for the Red, White and Blue!
Good thing he removed his "Frame Off" statement. Recently, I heard about a guy who bought a car on eBay which the seller claimed to have leather interior. When it turned out to be vinyl, and after some wrangling in the courts, guess who had to pay the buyer the cost of leather interior.

Well he has revised the ad. We had a back and forth of 7 emails. I was trying to impress upon him the potential pool of buyers are Hudson people and they will know that an engine with 30-40 Ibs of compression is shot and then to repost its 7 Ibs is going to drive everyone away.
I feel for the guy as he is listing for his Father-in-Law and he does not know a lot about cars.

It keeps getting worse. By the time the weekend hits, it will have negative compression and become a zero gravity anti-matter powered star cruiser.

Well here we go again its back. And he seems to have learnt from his earlier mistakes and kept the description brief and no crazy statements like the compression per cylinder is 7. I am afraid this will not sell unless they get realistic about the price. They spent a lot to restore it and they will not get it back unless they find that one special buyer who has to have it and where is that person?

My thoughts exactly. What's with red cars with blue interiors? Do people who own such cars belong to some dark, secret society and use this color scheme so they can readily identify each other?

Well, the car is back for another go around and the seller has finally clued in that no one is going to buy this car unless its reasonable. And for the BIN of $5300 its really reasonable the car has been restored and is a fine driver so if you want a Hudson Jet that really needs nothing done to it this is now a bargain.

Well, at least he finally has a bid on this ultra-low compression Jet. Maybe you should buy it as a little twin (at least in color) to your 51.
