here is a complete 308 with Twin H ready to be assembled. Best way to buy in my opinion because you can see inside and do the work yourself. All the parts are there and machining is done.

I wonder how much of the "surface rust" the seller mentioned is on what were finely machined surfaces. Yikes! If someone has an engine budget of $6k dollars or better, they should go to someplace like Ultimate Performance and get one that's professionally built and has a warranty.

The problem here is that most of the people selling parts on ebay have no clue what they are selling. They go around flea markets and have friends say come on over you can have all the junk in my garage. They then read two paragraphs they looked up on the Internet then try to sell parts. Sometimes this works out great for the buyer I just bought a brand new never opened regulator for a Hudson $4 still had the tag on the contacts saying polarize after install. These go for 40-80 bucks on average. Also bought a headlight relay for $5 these are always on for around $50. Or you get some numbnut who wants to sell you a used fuel pump for $100.

I have seen moronic things like guys trying to outbid each other for Kingpins sets I know a few guys you can get them off in the $60-80 range saw a set go for $145 with two guys bidding....me I was watching and laughing my butt off.

Always remember Hudson was around for a lot of years and they produced a lot of parts and so did other vendors. Every time I see a part and think that must be rare I see 10 more come up if I wait. Never jump in and bid more than you KNOW the part is worth. I saw a guy bid a $175 for a 1954 Hudson brochure I paid $27 for my mint version bought another mint one for $20.

As to this engine for the bother might as well spend $2500 and get a rebuilt one from Dave Kostanek.

Good advice. I too have watched in amazement while people battle over junk on ebay. I watch lots of stuff, just for the purpose of gauging interest and prices. It helps with the shopping process.

But since you're such a smart shopper, I'm putting you in charge of the low cost parts procurement program for all members on this forum.

OK everyone, start posting your shopping lists!
