There was (or is) also a very good Hudson-Carforum on classiccar.com and i have been on about 4 years ago.
Since 2 or 3 month i try to reach this site again, but my browser shows that it's forbidden. This is the statement:
| Quote:: |

You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.2.10 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.10 OpenSSL/0.9.8i DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at www.classiccar.com Port 80 |
Does somebody know something about it? Did they change the adress or is it possible that only from germany i'm not able to reach this site? Does it still work for user in the US?

The same thing... I don't know why, but i think it is not reachable anymore from germany... That is a dawn thing, many pages are cencored so you can't reach them from germany... Why they do that on THIS page, i don't know... Living in a free country... what a joke...

Same problem here, Tom! It´s a pity because there was so much good information... and it´s really difficult to get good info about Hudsons in Germany! Well, that´s why I´m here now!
@ Stone: Pierre, is it you who I met in Västeras/Sweden last year when I was there with my ´49 Super Six?
Kind regards from Germany
Mike

They say they are making changes to the Forum over there. Maybe when they are done you can get in.
If not ask your questions here I will get you the answers. And welcome to our site.

Thanks for the welcome, 51 Hornet! Well I need to know... I am now the proud owner of several Hudson decals... a nice big one (2x3", yellow with black frame) that shows tire pressures, oil specifications etc.) plus a smaller orange-colored one "Made in the USA, Hudson Motor Corporation".
I just can´t find any info in the owner´s manual or the shop manual where the correct place for these decals is! Someone at the other forum replied to my question but since I can´t access the forum anymore I can´t read the answer! And there´s no other Hudson within 400mls to check... I think Tom´s closest to me!
So maybe one of you Hudson owners can tell me? Thanks a ton!
Mike

Look at this pic you will see the correct location for the yellow tire pressure decal. Its on the drivers side of the radiator on the valence.

The orange sticker goes on the passenger side of the cowl above where the Hood hinge is located. I have not seen many on the later Stepdowns but your 49 would have had it located there. If you look at the pic above it would be located on the gold portion of the cowl by the hinge.

Bonjour Pierre! I´m from Duesseldorf, but I guess it would not be polite to our Canadian hosts if we start speaking German here? I met two Frenchmen in Sweden who told me that they were restoring a Hudson Stepdown. The classic car meeting in Sweden is the largest in the world, see www.bigmeet.com ... there´s always about 10 Hudsons there.
It was a 2000 mls trip with my ´49 Super Six to get there and back... I´ll try to attach some pix to this mail.
Mike
