| Did you know that while developing the Hornet, Hudson Engineers tested exhaust systems from Cadillac in an attempt to try and eliminate what they refered to as the "Sonic Boom" from the Hudson tailpipe.

You know I am working on replacing my exhaust this year the inside of my muffler is shot so my Hornet sounds like a race car. Shame is I love the sound and so does anyone who hears it they are blown away by the growl. Looking at flowmasters they have a muffler that may gimme the growl when I step on it but sound mellow when I cruise. Like HudsonDad I have the Clifford header and X pipe ready to install.

Why not just go with some good old glass packs? Great flow-though design, mellow tone, attractive price and compact size. I had them on a 66 Chevy with a 327. Throaty, yet polite enough for everyday use. And please, unless you want to look like a mullet wearing goof from the 80's who jacked the old man's sedan with air shocks, have the tail pipes exit the back of the car. IMHO, pipes emerging from the side(s) of an otherwise stock sedan look lame.

Although not as restrictive as reverse flow mufflers, the Flowmasters do have internal wave canceling baffles that add restriction. Ah, chrome exhasut tips that exit the rear...just what a "normal" car should have. Are you going to wrap the headers to eliminate the "ticking" sounds (of exhaust gas pulses) and under hood heat build-up?

I think that every hudson I have heard with a flowmaster, sounds good. I think I got an el cheapo autozone special on my exhaust right now, and probably ought to go over and see the mennonite boys, have them fine tune my stainless pipe, and put on a flowmaster muffler.
I don't think i could even imagine side exit exhaust on a hudson.

Isn't there a commercial on your local TV that goes something like, "Don't worry, call the Mennonite men." But there's something I don't understand. Do the Mennonites still slink around in buggies or have they taken a leap into the 21st century?
Kid, you'd better cut loose with some of that lottery money and fix up that Hudson.

They call it "Red Run". they just built a shop way closer to my house. Now they're probbably about 4 miles away, versus 7 miles .
As far as what they drive, most of the newer order drive black cars, usually pretty hot cars at that, yoou'll see an occasional new GTO, or mustang... some drive old Chevelles, and stuff, usually all black. There's a road out by hudsondad that used to have a pretty fresh coat of "rubber" put down every saturday night, in the summers.
Heck I used to pave the road in front of my parent's house when I used to leave, with my neon, until I tossed the differential thru the bellhousing. Hudsondad was nice enough to come out and push the car into the yard, and hudsonmom even came out in her bathrobe and slippers to help push.
I got great parents....
My wife was pi$$ed when she had to come and pick me up. I don't know what er problem was. I tried to tell her it was a faulty part, and wasn't my fault, but the 50 foot of rubber in front of their house was pretty tell tale.

Hmmm, culture shock at it's finest. Did they have a "shop raising" party? Are these guys like the Amish, running around with beards (and no mustaches) and straw hats? I can see it now, "Pray on Sunday, Race on Monday." Considering what kids look like today, the Mennonites are finally looking like they fit in. Just need some to get um some tats and piercings.
Now for the wife. Since you're married to her, and assuming that you live together, I bet she has at least a slight clue as to your, um, nature. She can probably see the BS coming a mile away.
Your parents sound cool. I can see Hudsonmom now, running outside to help you out and then dashing back into the kitchen to make some yummy spaghetti.

No, she wasn't too happy either. I thought it was funny. It was the first time I ever destroyed soemthing that would not make it home.
Not wait, I did blow the clutch out of my hudson pretty early..

Come on, keep talking...we'll just keep a little tally here:
1. Taking off ramps at 100 mph - Thanks hudsondad
2. Differential shot through bellhousing in Neon
3. Blown clutch in the Hudson
Sounds like you're on the "Highway to Hell."

yeah, well, hudsondad passed something like 24-26 cars in one shot, and two line painting trucks, that were both clearly marked, "DO NOT PASS"
in a severely underpowered PT Cruiser...
I rest my case...

Ah, the pot calling the kettle black, aye! I don't think I need to ask who taught you to drive. In hudsondads defense, maybe had to got to the men's room...really bad.
