on my hudson there is an electric pump gasoline, is necessary it to leave it, or the engine can function without it?

It was probably put there to be used if you experienced vapor lock. Which can happen on Hudsons. Probably a switch under the dash you turn on for a bit to prime pump start car then turn off.
If its not hurting anything I would leave it.
The engine will function without it using the mechanical pump only. I guess Ed must have had vapor lock or the owner previous to him.

| yes there is a interuptor under the instrument panel, but if I cut it, the car stalls, one thus needs the electric pump permanently. ED has to repair the mechanical pump, but if one rolls to the top of 70 miles, the engine S chokes, and should be engaged the electric pump

You could try buying a new mechanical pump.
what might be happening is the electric pump when not running is acting to restrict gas flow to the mechanical pump.
All depends on how the electric pump is plumbed into the fuel system.
