Sean,
This is the Hudson I think I`d like to find. As far as I can ascertain, it was one year only body style (brougham) and was a budget model to gain more sales for the company. This is also the color combo that I like, only problem is I want an AT. Am I right in thinking that you could have ordered a Hornet Special with an AT, power steering, power brakes and twin "H" ? Could you not have ordered leather as well ?
I saw recently a 54 Super Wasp that was ordered with PS and PB.
When I worked for a dealer in the 1980`s they would frequently order lower priced models and then ad a few packages from the factory. You then had a less expensive auto with the upper conveniences.

Yes you could order a Hudson with anything you wanted, including leather.
The Hornet special Brougham(actually Hudson dropped the Brougham name and called this a 2dr Club Sedan.)
The Brougham body style could be bought 48-54.
But this style of body the 54 was one year only. In my book Hudson ended in 54. Talk to others and they talk about the AMC years. That stuff was junk in my book.

I agree, it was basically a rebadged Rambler with a different grille and headlights. It was the same with Indian and Matchless. Indian went out in 53, after that it was in name only. Art

I looked thru the paint charts for 1954 and didn`t see the yellow color. I don`t think this is the creme color that was offered. Sean, do you have the color chart for 1954 models? Art

Sean,
If this car was available what would a good price be in this condition, needing paint and interior work, but rebuilt engine and running good?

I have seen these cars go from 5-10K most of them in better condition than this one. This made over 8K and he did not sell. He will be keeping this car I think. 5-10K is for a decent driver you can fix up.
Looking at the tag the paint code looks like either 161 or 181 if its 161 its spring green. I think its 181 green gold which was a late 54 color. The tu tone I think was done by the owner.

I read somewhere that the dealers did the lower quarter panel painting, that the factory just did the roof for a two-tone in this year.
