| Dave's avatar is much cooler than yours, but it does look cobbled up! And cobbled or not, ALL the old fossil fuelers are gonna be parked in our children's lifetimes, if not ours. Heck, I got mine on high ground already! You guys are splitting hairs while Rome is burning.

Finely put 51.
If I might ad,
I restore and race old Indian motocycles. I restored a 1948 Scout factory racer (one of 50 made) a few years back and upon finishing the 8 year correct restoration I was asked what I was going to do with it. I promptly told all that asked that it had a prominent place in my living room, when I wouldn`t be racing it! I was told I was nuts, but it was also one of a few factory racers that had a past and present racing pedigree.
If you can upgrade an otherwise junked or forgotten jewel to enjoy, then so be it. Somebody better tell Dale Walksler of Wheels of Time Museum in NC that he shouldn`t take those valuble machines out of display for some tough excersize or something might break... lol Same goes for our hot rods ! And to say that modern oils aren`t better in comparison to the 50`s crude? Get with the program, your machine will thank you for it in more ways than one.
Bottom line.. There`s an old saying "ride em, don`t hide em". One more Hudson on the road is worth 10 in a musuem anywhere in the world !

Hey, one more thing...................
Can you imagine the look on the dealers face when Marshall Teague walked in and bought a new Hudson Hornet and then told the dealer his reason for the purchase! HA ! LOL !! Yeah, he was nuts too !

I just got back from a meet and I was driving my Buddies Hudsons he has some rare cars and we were bombing those cars down the hiway at a good clip. Total blast to be driving them. We spent two days driving these cars all over. I would not own a classic if I wasn't going to drive it.
Yeah Marshall was quite a guy. That was the time to race. Go in buy a car, tie down the hood tape the lights pull the skirts and get it on the track for an all day race then drive it home for a wash.

| I read Smokey Yunick's book a while ago and he really rated Marshall Teague as a car builder, businessman and gentleman. His book has a section on the Hudson,s and his main driver Herb Thomas. The book is well worth a read and covers Nascar, Indycar and a full and interesting life.

Yes that is a great book. It really was a wild time back then before the big corporate sponsors got in and ruined it.
