I am compiling everything I can find on building and maintaining a 7x engine. As you know the 7x engine was Hudsons high performance 308. It had bigger valves and the block was relieved around the valves for better breathing. The cam was hotter with longer duration. The factory 7x was a dealer replacement they were not installed in the factory. You ordered your Hudson and the engine came in a crate and the dealer installed it. These were a hot engine and we all know the story of how Hudson dominated NASCAR.

All of my findings will be pdf'd and placed in the library. Stay tuned...

I am contemplating using a 308 I picked up in my 28 Essex. The information you are gathering might just be invaluable! Thank you!

Since that post much as happened. I now have a factory 7X engine on a stand in my garage. I have learnt a lot and its just getting time to document it. But a 308 in a 28 would be a screamer and unique to boot.
