Ooooh, weee...keep those pics comin'. Did you look at any interiors or inside engine compartments or trunks? So, are you and hdad going to make a purchase or? What's the story with the owner?

you're kidding, right? these things are far gone. Interiors are shot, glass shot (literally) doors falling off, hoods unable to be opened. No floors, perimeter frames gone.

No purchases today. I was actually on the way over, thinking if the 51 coupe was actually a pacemaker instead of a super six, it would have been considerable, if it were saveable, but when we thought of having to pull the superstructure off, and find a good short wheelbase chassis to make a coupe, it sounded not worth the time.

Even the coupe was too far gone. There was a guy and his girlfriend there that ended up with the coupe, and the early chrysler for the hemi. He was more ambitious that we were. I would like to have an early rear or something, but the engines and stuff were too far gone. If parts become available, there's some potential.

Nope, totally serious. If the owner would let me, I'd walk away with rims, stainless trim, door handles, tail lights, lenses, and anything else of use, even if it were to keep parts as cores. Big news flash here...they're not making this stuff anymore. So, IMHO, you grab what you can while you can.

Anyway, did you have oodles of fun? What about that Geiser? Maybe you should buy that and use it as a driver. It would certainly get some looks, especially at car shows. You'd be a Rondey magnet in that. Twisted Evil

HK,

thanks for the great pictures I really enjoyed looking at these trying to find diamonds in the rough.

Dave is 100% correct. When I find cars like these I strip them quicker than a chop shop. All the tail lights and trim are gold. Steering wheels glove box doors etc. I then hoard them in my garage where I go out at night and say "lovely Hudson parts my precious" but seriously this stuff is great and is good to use to trade as well.

Posts like these are gold. Again many thanks for taking the time to post.

Thank's hudsonkid, and please keep us posted on if and when the owner of these fine vehicles wants to let us part them out.

Do I spy a 41 convertible with a tree growing out of it? I don't remember that option...

The cars were avilable for purchase, as entire units, that had to be removed. If they became available for "parts" then they would in fact be stripped violently by me and hudsondad, in the middle of the night, with no witnesses.

As far as sheetmetal, I doubt much of any would be worthh saving, stainless yes, glass is all gone, mechanical is iffy.

I know what you guys are saying about saving parts, but over the years, we parted one or two hudsons out. What's really bad, is that I bet we cut up 6 that were better than this, and they were nicer by miles...

Hmmm, middle of the night you say. Well, the rest of us will just have to get there in the begining of the night. Now where did I put those night vision goggles?

YOU cut up Hudsons...I can see it now, coming soon to a theater near your, "The PA Chainsaw Car Murders."

I will be going in the middle of the day with my rust colored camouflage when I crouch down I look like the trunk lid of a Hornet. I will do quick sorties removing parts then running to the perimeter to drop. Would take me 17.5 hrs to strip all the cars and remove all the engines with my camouflaged cherry picker. Then down to the local IHOP to celebrate and lay low did the parts cool.

Good idea! And while you're in the IHOP, I'll drive off with the parts. But before I do, I'll sneek into the restaurant and pay your bill. Just my way of saying thanks.

It is not only a federal offense but a moral offense to steal parts from a person who is enjoying a tasty pancake breakfast after a long night of camouflaged Hudson parts picking.

It just ain't right and it means you would be also stealing my powder blue 1978 Boogie van with the mural of the Bee Gees on the side and I couldn't have that......

Now who said anything about stealing? Heck, I even offered to pay for the pancakes. But then again, I may not be "staying alive" for long driving the Bee Gees Booger van.
