Yeah, seems this dreamboat sold for a lil around 30K. I think that the person that buys this will need to sink in about 10-12K, like you guys said, to make this right. I bet I know where that crappy replated chrome came from too... That is why I look for NOS, or want to examine every item I buy, for my car. It might be a lowly 50 commodore 6, bu if i'm huntingparts, i want the time and money I spend to be worthwhile.

Yeah, can you believe 30k for that car? Considering what things cost today, a correct interior could easily be 4k. Then if the engine and trans need a rebuild, you could easily spend another 8k. It sucks to think that the one place to get chrome of that low quality is from a "club" member. Sure, NOS is the best route to go if you can find it. But, you're lucky HK, you've got some great swap meets in your backyard. Ah, come on, your car can't be lowly. After all, it is a Hudson and a Commodore to boot.

You can't get a correct interior into that car as they do not make the 51 interior material any more. You can get close thats why I would have left old interior instead of doing that corduroy crap we see in it now and cheap ass vinyl.

I do like the colour I think its supposed to be Toro red but the shade is tad off but still nice looking. I love the 51 coupe its my fav coupe year.

It's too bad that the 'restoration' was poorly executed. Since original style cloth isn't available, leather would have been a better choice than what's in there now. The current materials look cheap and ill-fitted.

I like the color too.

same thing that happened several years ago. All these speculators buying 50's cars, again, knowing nothing more than a shiny exterior, and shiny chrome. Condition is everything, whether it is a old tobacco baseball card, an old coin, or even a Hornet emblem on the trunk of your 51 hudson hornet coupe, that you just paid a major premium for.

It appears that someone had too much money to spend or the reported price of the sale was inflated. But then again, who knows the exact circumstances.
