| Hi guys, I just pulled the propane off my twin H Super Wasp and put the carbs and aircleaners on. The aircleaners that the guy said came with the car were short ones. Basically a short version(without the can section of the twin H aircleaner) I wanted to fit the Twin H logo ones I had bought a while ago. I think they are 55 or 56 ones, I know they are different to the original 53 ones but are still the same size. To cut a long story short the front one fits fine and the mounting hole in the can lines up with the one in the bracket on the throttle linkage but the rear one hits the wiper centre set up and will not sit straight accross as it should. Does anyone have any ideas why this should be?( see attachment photo) I was going to photos on of the small ones too but it will only allow me one attachment can you tell me how to put more photos on. Thanks Mike.

Yes just post another reply to this thread below this one and add another pic.
The problem you are having is the aircleaners for a short wheel base car are different for the rear.
Yes those aircleaners shown are the paper style for a 55 on up car.
Those SWB aircleaners are rare and I do not see them a lot. The rear aircleaner has a leg on it that pushes it forward.
Here is pic of what one owner did.

| Thanks , I figured it must be something like that. It would be good to see an original SWB one to see exactly what they look like. At this stage I figure I will either remove wiper set up or modify the can. Nice bit of inginuity in the set up you put picture of. Did the origanal SWB ones still retain the same outward appearance? Thanks for help. The picture is of the short ones that came with the car, any idea what they are off?

That is a nice car. The shorty aircleaners you show are a set of 55 aircleaners with the center part cut out.

| This is my 34 Plymouth Coupe, its a New Zealand built hot rod built in 59 and won heaps of trophies throughout the 60's and 70's. The guy that built it did everything himself except the chrome. Its basically all 36 Ford running gear with a 48 Mercury engine fitted with Allard Heads and manifold. I know this is a bit off the Hudson subject but thought you might be interested in some stuff from down under.

Those are some really nice cars. Great stuff looks like the Hudson will have a lot of great garage mates.

| Yes this is my 60 Coupe Deville, I have owned for over 10 years now. It was my first American car and is a great cruiser. The Model A came from Bakersfield as an original car and was hot rodded here, it is my wifes car and she drives it to shows and stuff here.
