Nice car but $17,900 is too high for Hornet special without Twin H.
Looks like clean car though.

I disagree. If this car is original, with the exception of items restored, there's the value. Personally, I'd spend $17k on this before $10+K on a cobbled coupe. They're only original once.
Looks like it has the blow hole and funky cocoa colored carpet.

Never seen a Hornet Special go for $17,900 in the 5 years I have been watching them and I have seen ones in better condition that this.

Lots still original here. It's worth the price not to have to waste time and money uncobbling it.

Heck I haven't even seen a good Hornet go for that price. Look at the 54 Wasp totally original with 17K miles and besides the 308 they are the same car. Did not sell and it makes this car look used.

Well, let's just say that the market for toys isn't what it used to/should be. Lots of seemingly good cars have been passed over that would have sold quickly a few years ago. Sign of the times? When we all start singing "Happy Days are Hear Again," the values will return. The times are good for buying, bad for selling.

Yes the other 54 Hornet on ebay is stalled at around 7K. You are right cars are not selling and this so much better for me as I have a roving eye and a love of all thing Hudson, Packard and Buick.....so goody for me.....

For those who are in the market, there are many good quality investments rolling around out there. Still, there are some people who obviously live in a bubble and haven't heard that the world economy has crashed. Those are people that are asking thousands for rusted hulks that should have been crushed years ago. I bet that with a nice chat on the phone, the seller of this car, and those with ones like it, could be made to see the light and sell the car for what the market is currently dictating.

Shame though. I understand wanted to get a good price. Some of these guys keep putting them up for sale again and again. They never break 10K and they just do not seem to want to let go.

There can be many reasons why someone overprices a car and keeps remarketing it. Some people may just be testing the water. Others may be hoping for a foreign seller to pay top dollar. Then, there are cases where a sale is required by divorce or hardship where the court has set the value of the assets to be sold. With the latter, nobody in their right mind would reveal that for fear of being low balled by opportunistic buyers. Too, there will always be those who are greedy and think what they're selling is better and more valueable than anyone else.

Last time round it got to $8988 far shy of what he wants for the car. Lets see if he can make that BIN of $17,500 he wants. I doubt it. He has Best Offer turned on so lets see what he gets as offers.
