Hey guys I got a question I was wondering about. I have a 1970 amc javelin with a 304 v8, the car is in rough shape but the engine is awesome.I'm really interested in Hudsons was wondering if I found a Hudson with good body but motor was dead would this be a good swap and would it be possible to do it. I was wondering if this type of swap has been seen by any other members here.
Thank you

Lenny as the old saying goes with a little ingenuity and elbow grease you can put any engine in a car. You will have to mod the frame for this to happen but it should not be a problem. No real cutting just weld in some new motor mounts.
So yes its possible. I would look for a SWB 2 dr Brougham. There is one on ebay right now and shown on this forum. With the shorter V8 under the hood the handling should be nice and you will have plenty of power plus you can get a lot of performance parts for that engine.

A 304 in a 1970 Javelin? That's strange becasue I thought the 304 was first offered in Jeeps begining in 1971. The crowd with older Jeeps are probably a good source for parts.

| As Sean says anything is possible I have a 360 chrysler in my Hudson. But it was not really an easy swap unless you plan on some steering mods due to placement of original Hudson steering box.
