I kind of like the look of this truck. I would do a nice resto on this and keep the 308 and AC.

I'm amazed that quantity of Hudson trucks that are still around. What's with the red body and blue interior? The intake looks like it has a few plugs missing or those are gigantic, unused openings for the choke heat tubes. Louvers on top of hood not a good idea when parked in a rain storm. Where's the engine fan?

Those are the bolt holes that are used to bolt the stock exhaust manifold on. This has headers so does not need them.

Oh, DUH... What the H3LL was I thinking. I was probably distracted by yet another red Hudson with blue interior. Although I like the look of a light blue body and dark red interior, the obverse doesn't work for me.

Its back and with a BIN of $14,750 which I think is pretty good considering the interior is nice the engine is a 308 with Twin H and AC. The rest of the truck could be fixed for maybe 10K and you a really nice truck so this is a pretty good deal. If I was not up to my ears in Hudsons I would be off for this as I love Hudson trucks.

It doesn't look like it would take much to make this a good driver. Do you know what species of wood was originally used as the bed? You should buy it, make a set of ramps and put your Jet in the back.

That sounds about right since Oak is a hardwood and could take a beating. It would probably be fine outdoors if it were well sealed.

It may also have been ash. I cannot remember I read it somewhere.

I think they use ash for the structure in cars before the all steel bodies. As for me, I'd use Ipe wood.

| Dave is correct. Ash and maple for body structure, White Oak for truck beds, shagbark Hickory for wheels and spokes. (Oak spokes look great, but are unsafe, they can't take the lateral stress)

Woo Hoo...what do I win? Does anyone know if the cars with the wood frames had problems like creaking, swelling, shrinking, etc.?
