51H,
Thanks for sacrificing your personal hapiness for us. I guess hudsonkid (if he'll ditch the Debutante pen and the feelings it exudes) and I will just have to swap the girls between us. Although Cindy's closer to my age, I'd give Rachy a spin around the block. Like with our cars, it's not all about how she looks, it's what's under her hood. Gentlemen, start your enginas.
Kid,
If that's the case, she really looks good and puts the old grandma sterotype to bed.

Yep, they're lookin' good. And, they haven't reached the age where they're like third world countries...Everyone knows where they are, but no one wants to got there. May be 51H can put in a good word for us.

here's a bit of an editing blooper from a pretty big movie- in Hoffa, Danny Devito is pulled over by a New York trooper, a certain '54 Hollywood drives past twice.

Great, now I have to watch Hoffa...again! In Hollywoodland, are you sure the Hash wasn't turing into a wrecking yard? Sorry, I'm still made at Nash for killing Hudson.

You know me I never have a negative thing to say but when I see a 57 Hash grill I just start screaming uncontrollably. You cannot say that is design its something that they made up on the assembly line.
I know we have Hash lovers out there and I say hey to you and keep the faith on those but I cannot like them no matter what I do.

The Hash guys are a good bunch that deserves our support. After all, look at what they drive. Just Kidding. Realistically, everyone knows that no legitimate Hudsons were produced after 1954. But since the Hashes are badged as Hudsons, we have to support those who have made an effort to keep that bit of history out of the crusher. At least the Hashes (except for the grill) weren't as butt ugly as the Nash cars of the era. You know the ones I mean, with the headlights in the grill. They looked crosseyed. And those semi-skirted front fenders...what were they thinking?

I kind of like to think that the Nash engineers all 2 of them were heavy drinkers and partiers and they just had a good time and they never had a day where they didn't say man that looks good and where is that ringing coming from and why is the room spinning......

Funny stuff. But hey, this is still happening today. Look (if you can stand it) at the Pontiac Aztec. A conceptual vehicle has to go past how many eyes and through how many commities before it can get approved for production? Therefore, hundreds of people must have looked at this turd and said, "Ya, that looks great, let's build it." Maybe it's a Detroit thing. But how can we explain ugly cars from a broad? I've got it, the pixilated Nash people migrated. But even as a kid watching Superman on TV, I thought the Nash cars and the show's cast members were turds.

Ya know Detroit today really pisses me off. You watch a car show where they show concept cars I would buy in a heart beat and then they deliver total crap to the public. They think we are fools. The Chrysler Nitro is a really good example. Someone stacked two tissue boxes up and the design team mistook it for a finished model and built it. I can't believe this crap and they wonder why they are taking a beating in the market.

Many years ago, the manufacturers would bring out a new car style every two years. There was much hype and anticipation, both of which helped to tantalize the buyers and get them into show rooms. Now, they milk the designs for nearly 10 years and wonder why sales are in the toilet. It seems that some manufacturers (like Chrysler) are always trying to bring something new and exciting to the mix. But, IMHO, they can't sell the volume they anticipate due to dubious quality. And too, most manufacturers seem to be focused on making tech improvements moreso than how the package looks. Not that tech advances are bad, but people buy for reasons which range from need to want. The ones who buy out of desire don't do so as often as they used to because the styling that once drew them into showrooms is lacking. And don't forget the lack of interior color choices.

Back to Hudsons in movies;
"The Two Jakes" with Jack Nicholson used a 49? vert. The main car was a LWB, and used a SWB double for the desert driving scenes.
"Walk the Line" had a few scenes with a gold commodore. Elvis and Jerry Lee were blowing stuff up with the Hudson in the background.
