It looks like a nice car, but $23,000.00 is too much for that car. I noticed that the upholstery is incorrect and the steering wheel is cracked.

Prizes of old us cars are high in Sweden. The reason are they are popular, and cost for shipping from Usa. Registration and so on,is not cheap here in Sweden. So when a car is ready and turn key, they cost much more than you think is the right prize.I read that the Chinese import old Us car too Shocked .I guess that there is not so many Hudsons to find in good condition.Allmost every Hudson on e-bay is a t.l.c

I understand what you are saying. It's all about supply and demand. Do you know how much it costs to ship a car from the US to Sweden? As people in China become prosperous, they'll be importing old cars from Sweden. Laughing Since finding a good Hudson is not easy here, I can only imagine how difficult it must be in Sweden.

From Norfolk on the eastside to Gothenburg about 2500$
From L.A on the west to Gothenburg about 4000$
Then split in about 3.That is how many cars you can get in the container.
Then you have to pay 20%of the price you bougth the car for, in tax here in Sweden. Then you have to pay for inspection of the car brakes ,lights, steeringhandling and so on.+some registration paperwork
Then your Hudson is ready to drive Confused if you are lucky Laughing There is people that bougth a car on ebay in super condition(by The seller) but when it arrived to Sweden its a wreck. Crying or Very sad

The price to ship overseas is not that bad. You could pay over $2,500.00 to ship a car across the US. We have to pay for registration and taxes on used cars too, but some states do not require inspections.

I hate when people lie about the condition of the cars they sell on eBay. Mad

I ought to sell my Zephyr in Sweden, but the inspectors would go insane! No signal lights, cable brakes, no seatbelts, no sealed beam headlamps, tiny 6V tail lights......... I've talked to old timers that told me that Lincolns of my vintage had to have signals fitted even when they were shipped across the pond when they were new in 36! (safety requirements were not implemented on a national basis until the 60s)

That would be the buyer's problem, Moe. You wouldn't have those problems if you were selling a Hudson. Wink Some European countries have very strange safe requirements when it comes to lighting on vintage cars. The few that I've seen which have been retrofitted looked like crap.

There is a guy on the LZOC BBS that just converted his 37 from the goofy looking sealed beam retrofit back to original bulbs, reflectors and lenses. The retrofit was exceptionally ugly, sort of Pierce Arrow looking cones, only shorter and out of proportion poking out of the front edge of the fenders. I've seen the period signals used too, they were the little wig-wag flappers on the leading edge of the front doors, near the top. The add-on signal lights weren't used until 38 or so.

Old Henry was so tight he could squeeze two nickels together hard enough to make twelve pennies drip out.

Wonder no has a kit to upgrade but still have the stock look. I know some of our members have halogen kits in their 30's rides. And with 6V.
