Reading through the latest Hemmings Classic car and besides having a cool article on how to spend too much money restoring a Hudson Hollywood they had a great article on the Briggs Manufacturing company. And I know Moe is well versed in Briggs.

Looking through some of their designs they have one car that looks like the prototype VW Beetle. Said it was based on the Tjaarda which is a car I have always loved as Batman would have driven one.

Nice article and I am sure Moe has more info to impart.

Looks like another hideous Nash/AMC design to me.

As monsterously ugly as any full sized early 60's Plymouth.

Oh, look, it's an AMC Gremlin!

Those are all Tom Tjaarda I am talking John Tjaarda who worked for Briggs and designed the body on Moe's car. He also designed some really streamlined cars that appeared in the 30's and 40's. One looked just like a VW bug before VW rolled it out. I wonder did they steal his design.

True. The felons see that coming and run! You'll have to admit that his other work was wonderful.
