Yes the story on that one is it was bought and modified for Liberace you can the musical notes in the speaker grills. They removed all the Hudson badging and dyed the seats black and painted it silver. Would have to restore to original to be worth that kind of money. That car will not sell.

I'm sorry, but that is one ugly car. BTW, the current owner admits that he has absolutely no documentation to prove that this car was owned by Liberace.

There where 4 Italias sold new in Sweden !
Stoty abouat that is as follows:
The Swedish importer bought the units that was on the Paris Autorama in -54. Hudson didn't think it was a good way of spending money, or thought that it wasn't any idea to ship them to US when they could be sold in Europe.
One car is still on the road in Sweden, ruff condition but completly original and running with a rebuilt engine.
(I was offered to buy it wery cheap 25 years ago - but thought it was so ugly and only 6 cylinders.......)
One was involved in a train accident, a the third was cought in a fire and the last one is back in the states, and are now rebuilt.

Thanks for the info Akkamas. I am a big fan of Italia's while most find them ugly I love the lines. Loads of potential there for a nice car. If Spring had been allowed to go to production on this car and cleaned up the lines and the fanciful items like the tail lights it would have been a nice sports coupe.
