different engine. At least the starting price is realistic. I bet the reserve is not. What you got to keep in mind, is would you install this into a hudson, without really checking it out thoroughly? I mean, come on, for the price this one probably is, you are better off contacting Dale Cooper, and rebuilding what you got, with new and improved components.
do it once, do it right.

I think this would be killer in your living room. Perhaps HD could rig it up to puff and toot...for the amusement of the kids that is.
Since this engine was not encased in Cosmoline or stored in a vacuum chamber for the past 50+ years, I'd bet some serious work is needed. Moisture could have condensed inside and galled the bearings, gaskets have all shriveled up, etc. Makes you kind of wonder why someone who rebuilds Hudsons hasn't used this himself.

Well here I scratch my head. 262 from the factory was not Gold to the best of my knowledge only the 51-53 308 was gold and the 53 Jet 202. Always saw 262 in silver might be wrong. Also the engine with red on it is a 202 Jet Engine.
262

202

Is he selling one engine or two? Is the other for comparison? It looks used. Pictures are from last year. A head scratcher indeed.

He has been trying to sell those engines for over a year. I mean these guys think I have a crate Hudson engine it has to be worth a mint right? nope only worth it if someone wants to buy it. And they are not buying it for 5-10K. You think this seller bought it for more than $100.

Given enough time on the market, some goof will probably buy them. If the seller paid more than $100.00 for each, he's the goofy one. BTW, if these were such a hot commodity, the likes of Jay Leno would have snapped them up long ago.

262 are pretty easy to come by. Probably around $500 for a running one.

It's unlikely that someone who is in the market for an engine (someone in the know) would pay top dollar for one that hasn't run in 50+ years.
