Might be a fun project if the $ is right. Now where are those darn skirts?

Great. When will you be reporting back on your findings?

Why do they leave these cars sitting outside thats a lot of years of wear on the body of that car.

| Nice car! (if you are a Hornet kind of guy) That is another good candidate for the lick and a promise, make it a driver treatment. It looks pretty unmolested. Clean up the surface rust, squirt a quick coat of paint, then make it driveable. Drive and restore at the same time, sort of bring it back to life without the $20K and 2 years in the shop.

Being that the Hornet is the most revered Hudson model, and since Sean and I each own Hornets, we're Hornet guys alright. This car either sat outside or in a damp building. However, at least it's intact, straight and runs. It's amazing that the bumpers held up as well as they did. Not a Twin-H car, but that can be added if desired.

| I'm sort of partial to the pre-war Big-8 (Deluxe) and the 34-36 Terraplane, and the Commodores. (luxury and class vs speed and performance) although the only Hudsons I don't like are the Hash versions.

Moe, nothing against the Hudsons you mentioned, but if you're going to be a Hudson guy one day, we'll have to get you a copy of "The importance of Stepping Down." Speaking of stepdowns, did you see the 48 Super Six business coupe the new member just picked up?
Since Hash cars aren't real Hudsons, don't feel bad about not liking them.

Yeah and they aren't real cars anyway. Just a version of what happens when your designers suck.

Sure, Hashes had some left over Hudsons parts on them, but they were never designed or built as Hudsons. Just little Nash piggies with some lipstick judiciously applied. Although the 55's styling was passable, the 56 and 57 are, without a doubt, the ugliest cars. Personally, I think this was done intentionally as a way to kill sales and thus allow the managment to wipe out Hudson and Nash. Two once great brands (well one and a half) sacrificed, and for what, a Rambler. Although the name was probably a hit back in the days of dirt roads and wood wheels, personally, I always thought Rambler was a dated and silly name for a modern car.

| I understand the stepdowns were the epitome of design for the Hudson engineers, from a performance standpoint especially. I just happen to prefer the big pre-war luxury designs, bordering on the full classics. I'm still planning on adding a stepdown to the Moe fleet, the right one will become my daily driver. My absolute favorite would be a 29 Biddle and Smart Town Sedan

I like the look of the classic era cars too. I just can't see myself driving one. When you do get one, it has to have white walls since skirts are out of the question.

Moe, could have got you one of those last year fully restored for $7500 the lady selling could not get anyone to buy it after her husband died. He spent 30K restoring after a year of trying they sold it for 7.5K to get rid of it.

| No widey-whiteys on full classics, thats the low class way of dressing up a common car. In the day, the folks who owned the big sleds of the classic era were much more sedate and refined. You might see WWW on a Zephyr, but not on a Lincoln KB Willoughby or Judkins; on a Terraplane, but not on a Biddle and Smart Town Car. I definitely would have jumped on that 29 for $7,500 had I known about it. (You could handle one of those big classics Dave, find a Dual Cowl Phaeton and you could hire a driver so as to not interfere with you and the hookers in the back)
