Here is an older resto of a 49 Commodore. Cannot say I like the paint scheme but the car looks pretty solid as a driver project.

This cannot be a 1949 Commodore since they were not offered as a Brougham and look at that really crappy looking steering wheel. Someone's been a cobblin' on that Hudson. Ugly colors for sure. The Brougham is a nice body style. Interesting non-related speedometer.

window looked Brougham to me, steering wheel is definitely not a Commodore steering wheel I am thinking a lower model dressed up but the eight in there adds mystery to the mix.

It is a Brougham, but it's sure not a Commodore.

The weirder thing is he lists the VIN the 484 beginning of the VIN designates a 1948 Hudson Commodore. Which is strange as the VIN is right but the car isn't.

The seller states that this car belonged to a farmer. That, in and of itself, should tell you that this car was pieced together like just like most things on a farm. Not that what was done is wrong, but the car is just being represented as something it is not. Good luck trying to legitimately register and insure a model that never existed on a car represented as being a 49 with a 48 VIN. What a mess.

Its probably a 49 Super Eight Brougham that has donor parts from a 48 Commodore. Still its a time capsule of rebuilding from two cars and thats how it goes.
My fav part of ad is this 'This vehicle would be very easy to restore to perfect condition with little cost and effort' I would like him to back that up with facts. Engine rebuild new paint is 10K.

| Looks like a 48 Super to me, but what do I know? I can't say exactly what, but something looks wrong with the dash.

The only Brougham coupe was a Super Six. The dash looks typical to me.

I mean in 49. Hudson had a Super Eight Brougham in 49. The series 493 I was hoping something of the 49 was true we still have to account for the eight under the hood so I was thinking it was a 49 Super Eight Brougham with a 48 Commodore VIN plate on it.
I can't tell till I send my Hudson CSI crew to investigate.

It's hard to stump Mr. Hudson. It probably is a 49 Super Eight Brougham with the wrong VIN.
I trust the CSI crew will get to the bottom of this.

| Get out there and impound this car until the documentation can be sorted out! Yellow Police Line tape, the whole bit. Maybe an armed guard, wiretap the phone of the so called "farmer" and get to the bottom of this. A 48 Super 6 with a "frankenhudson" motor, Commodore VIN tag, and low end wheel must be cleared up before someone hangs a "Super Jet" badge or Hash tailfins on it to scare motorists everywhere! This is urgent Sean! break out the "Hudsonman" cape, hood and tights!

I will have the boys around this car in our stylish clothes and sunglasses with flash lights in our hands CSI style. I will stand off to the side quite a ways and insist everyone calls me S. I will call everyone Mr. Wolf and if I don't get the answers I want I will empty a clip into the car and tell them to impound it.

Send the team to pistol whip the seller into spilling the beans, corn or whatever he's growing.
