Hafta get some more pictures, it's definitely the model I want to get. Still haven't sold the Bike, so I'll have to drag my feet. Likely 12-1500 to have it shipped here. Will a 7X go in there in place of the stock 6?
If I had the cash in hand, and he isn't out of his mind price wise... I've got a buddy in Oregon that is a car guy.... I'll have to call him.

Why would you want a 7X? They're fast, but far some smooth on the idle. How about a nice 1954 308 with Miracle Twin-H Power and Super Induction. You'll be flyin.

I would go with what I call a street 7X it has some nice improvements that would push you back in the seat but run smooth and trouble free. Dave is right a "true" 7X engine is a beast and loves the track but does not like the street.

Sounds like Moe needs to kick the bike sale into high gear. Keep thinking; 48 Hudson coupe; 7x street version; the best driving car of its time...

A Clifford engineering cam and exhaust, either twin H or 600CFM holley, sitting on a long runner, intake for lots of low end and still enough cam lift to take the torque curve a little higher in the rpm band for highway runs. That could be done with the 7X block and head without going nuts making it a true 7X race prepped motor. (I've built literally dozens of engines, mild to sicko, including flat V8s, but never a flat 6 or straight With a little guidance from the Hudnuts I should do OK. Had a nibble on the bike today, going to have to break down and e-bay it.

Getting a Hudson should be good motivation. The 308 is a mean flathead. Between 255 to 275 ftlbs torque in stock form. You could easily get 300+ on the torque and 200+ on the hp with little effort and expense. And remember, nothing drives and handles like a Hudson. When they're right, they drive as quiet and solid as a bank vault.

You get your street grind cam and lifters from Randy Maas the Twin H intake has the best runner configuration of any of the intakes. Mod plates and use two webers with variable jetting. The relief and polishing done right will get you over 200 HP easy and still be nice to drive.
