I don't get that mag up here. I read:

Hemmings Classic Car
Car Collector
Car and Parts
Canadian Classics
Vintage Truck
Collectible Automobile
Top Gear

And depending on articles some of the Hotrod mags.

My, my, you're a busy little reader.

Speaking of Canadian classics, is there a cross reference out there showing cars made for the US and Canadian markets. For example, wasn't the Mercury called a Meteor up younder?

Check out Skinned Knuckles Website, it looks like an interesting mag. Never read one, but they look interesting.

Must be a cross ref somewhere I have never thought to look that stuff up.

And where is your list of mags?

I have a stack of old skinned knuckles - as something to read its probably my favorite. its full of articles and tech topics and they tend to focus on orphans and more obscure makes not the usual fords and chevys. its not full of page after page of eye candy such asglossy closeups of ornaments in cars and parts and similar mags. its more average car guy stuff, not for the guy that drops off the car at a shop with a blank check. stories of chasing down that barn find or the car that got away. their how to articles actually have detail, not a glance over with a couple pics but not enough information to decide if you would want to take it on yourself.

I think I'll ask Santa for a subscription to Skinned Knuckles. It looks like interesting reading with "little eye candy" filler.

My list of mags...hmmm. I read the WTN and chapter newsletters as well as themonthly mag from another car club I belong to. Sure, I've read Hemmings and even had a subscription once. After getting it month after moth, it gets old quick. Besides, I can jump onto their site and see what I want. Every now and then, I'll pick up an old car mag if it has something that catches my eye.

Ssean, still want to know about the Canadian car models.

Don't know I will look around for such a thing never gave it much thought as the cars I liked had same name in both countries.

Sure you know about the Canadian only names, didn't we talk about a Pontiac Parisean? That was basically a full sized Pontiac with a Chevy engine and 2 speed PowerGlide...Yikes!

I was doing the usual search on eBay one night and came across an auction for a Meteor. The car was in Canada (if the kilometers don't drive me nuts the kilowatt references will) and was what we know to be a full sized Mercury. Emblazened across the front were the letters M E T E O R. The model name (which escapes me now) was equally as lame. I believe the car was in Quebec so maybe the Frenchies got the cars with goofy names. Maybe Mercury in French is as offensive as Buick's use of LaCrosse as a model name.

Well I never really understood all that crap with Ford. Early 60's we had the Mercury Meteor up here then after 64 we had just the Meteor which was a Mercury.

All a bunch of crap in my book. We bought Buick and a Buick was a Buick. Same with our Olds.

Went over to the skinned Knuckles site looks to be a good magazine. No frills just solid articles on working on cars. That I like. I also like the fact the site looks like it was put together by someone with a welder.

Nice....might have to swing a subscription of that myself.

From what I've seen, it looks like good info for the money. I think I'll give it a try. The site had some chassis rot so they got out the welder...

OK, I'll be expecting my first copy to be accompanied by a gift card saying, From Sean, Merry Christmas Dave"

Like I said before Dave I would not insult you by sending you gifts. Our camaraderie is enough....

I don't mind you lavishing gifts on me as you know I would gladly do the same. How's that? Will that do the trick? Smile
