Folks,
welcome to our newest forum the Hudson Lounge. If you have something funny to share about cars or some crazy observation lets get it in here.
Since the Hudson Cars for Sale forum is the most popular place here I want to clean it up and have only Hudson related replies and more all the funny banter into here so people looking for cars see just the info related to cars.
Hey we are getting popular so lets provide the best information we can.

It's been a long day. So, I think I'll just grab a leather club chair, put my feet up and unwind here at the Hudson lounge.
BTW Sean, I still want to know if you drove a "Stude Muffin" when you and the wife were dating.

The Hudson Lounge, Jacket and tie required. This is a high class joint, no lowlifes or scumbuckets allowed.... Harumph!
Car reviews and opinions still in the other section, fun and frivolity here I assume?

Yup it was Silver Grey and had about 150K miles on it. Ran fine my Dad tuned it for us and fixed the AC. At that point in life did not care about cars was in University living on dust so we were happy just to have a car.

God no, that was not my first car. My first car was my 70 Riv I also had a Fiat Spider at the same time and a 64 Olds StarFire and many other cars.
My 70 Riv was my first real love and Dad's Packard. But the Riv I did a frame up resto on and spent 2 years doing it.
The Cutlass was my wifes car I had sold my Riv(Sniff) to pay for University.

Well, Excuse me, Mr. I had a dozen cars when I was young. How have you been surviving without so many cars? I guess you'll just have to buy more.

It so different now. Without Dad around it does not work the same as its no fun doing tons of cars on your own. We lived in a small town had the space and it was part of growing up. When I left for University I did not work on another car until I got my Hornet thats 20 years without wrenching. I was just getting back into it and Dad had long retired and the Hornet was a project for the both of us to work on. So we laid out the garage and gathered all his tools and mine and setup shop for the Hornet. He was there when I sent the deposit and he saw pics of the car and he was pretty excited. He died before I went to get it so it was a bit of a downer. And at times when I am working on the car I wish he was there to help as he could have pulled the complete car apart blind folded. Such is life......

Look at who you are, what you know, the things you know how to do and what you continue to accomplish. He's there alright, he's there.

Yeah I know but its not the same as having him there in the shop. I grew up in a pair of overalls and hung with my Dad nearly every day. And I was a handful my Dad didn't care he had me driving cars in and out of the shop at 12. I loved that, never smacked one up drove slow and easy. We spent a lot of time under cars and there was so much more to learn. But not much you can do about it just soldier on the best you can.
But when I am alone in the garage with his tools working on the Hudson its like a kick in the stomach knowing he isn't coming through the door to help.

hudson lounge, 30 posts before you can enter....
anyway, my first three cars, not counting my hudson, which I have owned since before I could drive, were three 1978 pontiacs. First was a 1978 phoenix 4 door, which I broke a wrist pin, next was a 1978 grand prix, that was light brown metallic, LJ, nice car, needed a trans, so the phoenix donated it's trans. Then I bought a 1978 plain jane grand prix from my parents, it was black with a red interior, cool car. both grand prixs were 301 2 barrels. I pained the brown one white and put in buckets and a console, it was uber cool. We ended up cutting that one up, and I was down to the black one. We put a rear frame and floors in that one, and I drove it maybe 200 miles after that, and that went to get cut up. I had a lot of good times with those grand prixs. I was gonna fix the black car, but in the end decided that I could always find the nicest one in the world and buy it cheap.
Here's a funny one... me and my wife's first date was with the 78 GP (black one) guess where we went? Pep Boys, no kidding....

I think we will scare the newbies so only those who reach 30 posts will come in here to chat and if they do they might learn a thing or two.
