Something I will be checking out this Saturday, with hudsondad, sounds to be 21 really rough cars, from 1940 to 1954, one convertible, a 41 traveler, and a 51 super six coupe, the rest are 4 doors. I think these cars have to be purchased, and removed as entire vehicles, they sound ROUGH. Sounds like the prices are around 200-300 each.
Pictures to come after Saturday.

Great love junk yard runs. I am still trying to talk to this old Hudson owner I know who has the location of a yard far off the beaten path that has about 20 Hudson's in it so I am looking for that when the weather is better.
Pics are good. If possible can you keep the pics under 500K as I am running out of space in the gallery. Thx

I'll host them on my site, do all of the HTML crap.
Hudsondad has some videos of junkyards we used to frequent in the 90's. One of them wa rich in hudsons, and I would love to get a copy, convert it to digital, see if I could host it on you tube, or google, it would make a great link.
Junkyards rule, they seem to be all gone around here, I miss running around in them.

Hey Kid,
See if you can find a 54 vacuum tank out there for me.
Lets here more about that stash of 20 Hudsons in Canada.
Thanks,
Dave

We are lucky up here there are some great out of the way junk yards. Buddy of mine who is an awesome guy and a Hudson fabricating wizard went to a yard where the guy said I am crushing everything take what you can so he stripped every Hudson he could of chrome stainless, bumpers etc and will help you out with anything you need he gave me two 308's engines one with a dual range hydramatic. I kid you not he can fabricate anything and is a super nice guy to go with it. Can't ask for better you can see his 53 Hornet in the gallery under Rays Restoration. Did everything himself even the interior.
Every saturday when I was younger my friend and I would do junk yard runs looking for old cars. Found some really amazing cars like a V16 Cadillac and a field full of old 50's mopar Chrysler 300's Desotos...most had Red Ram Hemi's in them....amazing stuff.....
I do not know what Hudsons are in the field yet so I will tell all when I convince the guy to take me out.

Well, maybe a little make-up and a tight pair of those Hudson jeans will get him to take you out.
The friend you mentioned sounds like a great guy to know. And those cars you mentioned seeing when you were younger...drool.

Yeah I was an idiot back then. My Dad was a mechanic he had his own business we bought and sold cars like candy. Back then I was searching for Packards, Cords and old Buicks. Hudson and old Mopars weren't on my radar. The mopar lot was way, way off the beaten track it used to be the main road until they put the highway in in the 60's so 10 miles off highway is this old road with closed down service stations, an old museum (where we saw the V16 Caddy) and further on the mopar yard. I know it had Desotos. It had 50's hard tops and convertibles and lots of Hemi engines on pallets. Didn't look twice had no interest of course I was young and head was firmly up my ass. Now I would be backing a semi up and loading for days.
Will have to go back and see if I can find these places again or if they still exist. I will dig out pic of my brother and I in field of Packards and other old rides. Of course if I had known about Barrett Jackson I would have had Dad buy me a shit load of these. Could retire on what we saw.

OMG, please stop talking about those junk yards...I can hardly contain myself! If any of those places still exist and have cars, I'm on the first plane.

Now that's the best way to foster warm and fuzzy feelings between our countries if I ever heard one. The only Hudson I'v ever seen in a junk yard was in Wisconsin. I believe it was a 49 Pacemaker coupe. It was on top of another car (NO, they're weren't mating - take mind out of gutter), so access was limited. At any rate, it was a turd. But, if I ever find a Hudson or two for the picking, I'm stripping them naked!

Dave, you should have had that hudson airlifted outta there, regardless of condition, being a *rare* 49 pacemaker coupe and all...
how many of those did they make? One? or did they even make any?
