Well, I finally broke down and joined, here's my first post.
My username is hudsonkid, and you might have heard from me on another board.
Anyway, I got a 1950 Hudson Commodore 6 that I got for Christmas in 1990 or 1991, I can;t remember. It was old and didn't run and at the time, being 15 or so, seemed like a terribly difficult task for a kid to fix. Anyway, fast forward 17 years, or so, and I still got it. Each year, I tackle a different project, and this year being no exception, I hope to replace the trans (put back in the OD) possibly do a clutch (not sure who I'll get one from ) and do a thorough repaint (meaning I want to remove all of the window gaskets, and redo all of the weather seal)
Lofty goals for this year, but we'll see how it goes.

HK,
its me 51horneta from the other board. This is my Hudson site. I am going to be censoring your ass off over here, I do not want you to have opinions other than mine so keep that in mind when you are creating polls.
This site in my opinion is more substance less noise. I am trying to compile a searchable library of Hudson information. Got some good guys helping with articles. Mark Hudson helps out when he can and so does some of my buddies up here in Canada.
So enjoy yourself and have fun and no we don't tolerate the haters or the flamers so you should be good to go. Now we need to get Dave over here and we should be ready to party

I told him to join, or be assymilated. I got one more poll for classiccars.com
it should be a doosey.
As far as moderation, please, by all means, do it. I be you will be far, and reasonable, and not wishy washy, like some (cough, Lew, cough) Oh can I say that? don't want to hurt any feelings. Anyway, let me know what I can do to help out. I'll have to get hudsondad on board, and see who else might want to pay a visit. I like the format.

I'm kidding about the moderation. A good moderator is seen and not heard. You setup the rules and do not moderate by committee. If you start running polls to see if a post needs removing you are a poster not a moderator. If I see stuff I don't like I remove it and pm the person I do not wage a personal debate. That kind of crap is "Old School" if you know what I mean.....
Anyway welcome onboard. Things I love to see are posts about what you are doing to your car. History's of Hudsons that you own. I really like the stuff faustmb posts he has a long history with his cars.
Take a look around check out the links section I have pretty well covered most of the links to Hudson stuff. Any links you have are welcome.
Things I am doing are trying to document upgrades to Hudsons. Particularly adding disc brakes, better master cylinders. Adding power steering while maintaining the original steering components. Adding new performance items such as aluminum intakes and headers. Stuff like that but with solid articles backed up by pictures and well written. I can help with formating this stuff as well.
The whole site is indexed and runs on top of a database so everything is searchable.

Welcome, hudsonkid!
It's time to shake off the cob webs, fart out the rust and toss away the Depends. Let's have some fun?

maybe this is where we need to be. My last poll got deleted. I guess it was not appreciated. I said my goodbye, so now you're stuck with me.
I think that some of the stuff I have left behind, is fine in my book.
As far as the header and intake install, hudsondad is going to be doing that to his wasp soon. Perhaps we can document it, and have a how to for it. Seems your message board lends itself better to instructional content.

I have a 308 on the stand in the garage right now with a new header bolted up I am putting a Twin H manifold on it as well so I will photo that. Would like to see photos of someone doing this with engine still in car. Its a bit fiddly.
One thing I have noted after lugging the intake back and forth is that thing is heavy. I am working with a buddy to see about making a aluminum version of this manifold. Same config but with different carb mounts so we could choose different carbs I like the way you can setup jetting on Webers while the carbs are still mounted.

| I don't know if it's an option, but try to find the edmunds manifold, get a set of 1 barrel to 2 barrel adapters, and run your twin h carbs and linkage.

I have the clifford 4 barrel manifold, edelbrock 500cfm and clifford shorty 2 outlet headers with an X pipe. Still haven't heard from anyone trying the clifford shorty headers on a short WB stepdown. If they interfere, my backup plan is to cut down an old used set of clifford headers and make them work. I'm planning on using a twin H linkage unless I find some pacemaker linkage that was used for the single barrel carb. either will work for me. WE'll take pictures for sure.

I'll have to dig into the photo archive. I think we got some pictures of last summer, the hottest day on the planet, where me and hudsondad decided to take the hudsons out to the old dealership and take pictures.
It was so freaking hot that day. I think my hudson even pi$$ed out some water.
I still don't think hudsondad introduced himself formally. He needs to start a "here I am" topic....
Last word... did anyone else notice, that since we kind of became silent on CC, it seems a bit slowwww over there? ouch.

If you're finished packing those parts for me, start diggin for those pics. Where is the old dealer you're talking about? The day you're talking about last summer must have been the last week of July. We were scheduled to go to a car show then, but the heat index was 115 degrees! That made the choice to stay cool and dry at home a no-brainer.
Ya, tell Hdad to get yappin.'
Considering that potential advertisers look at the volume of hits a site gets, the lack of traffic will eventually impact their income. Sort of like a black hole collapsing on itself.
