Man, talk about a car being a shadow of its former self...

Of all suspensions to use, torsion bars. The rapist must have been a Mopar guy.

Just a bad chop job...a real bad chop job. Still if it isn't a rust bucket it could be brought back to the light.....

The only way most of the cars we dig up (no pun intended) could be realistically brought back to life would be if someone who owns a resto shop (filled with low paid but highly skilled illegals) were to flip them.

| if this car were in the great northeast, i would go for it. I think we got a SWB stub saved, for a fix like this, too bad it's across the country. I bet this one goes cheap, if it hits the ridiculous reserve that's prolly on it. Too bad, it looks decent enough to fix. I like 51-2 pacemaker coupes...

geez... just look at the lines on it... looks like a hornet that got kicked in the face. You got to love the hood and trunk length being almost equal on the SWB coupes....
I think that when it comes time for me, a 51-53 SWB coupe is what I end up with.....

Good looking carcass, I think that I'd go ahead and finish the rod job, as much as I dislike hacking cars. Just make a cruiser out of it that looks as stock as possible.
I have a friend who has a 46 Ford coupe with an EFI 302, AOD, with air, 4 wheel discs, it's pretty much a town car with a 46 body and interior. It's not show-able as a 46, but it's a great driver.

Although I cringe at the thought of hacking up automotive history, I guess it's better than seeing the cars get squashed.

Good idea! Then he can say this is the car that received the V-12 prototype that Hudson was working on (they really were) at one time.

Yes they did have a V12 it was actually a running engine. They shelved it after the power to cost was just not justified the 8 was developing about the same hp for less manufacturing hassle.
