Nice work looks like the original upholstery. That cord type material is available I wish they offered the 51 material. I am lucky mine is in great shape.

I thought someone might get a kick out of seeing what a high end upholstery job looks like. They even posted a color board to show material colors and textures. True, in the pics I've seen of your interior, it looks good. Maybe this place can give you a lead on 51 material.

| Try LeBaron Bonney or SMS Fabrics, they should have something either exact, or so close that unless you point it out, nobody, including judges will be able to tell the difference. Wool, flannel, mouse-fuzz, mohair, bedford cord, goofy GM patterns, different grain vinyls, more than I've ever seen.

I've heard that LB is rather high end and that SMS takes your money and makes you wait for months before they ship. I'm not completely sure, but I don't think either have as good a match as illustrated in the link I provided.

Neither of those companies make a match for the 51 upholstery.

That's why I posted the link. That company seems to do impecable work and uses what apepars to be reasonably correct materials.

Thats why you are the best Dave.
I know you are posting that link because you did not want to participate in my pet project for this site where we build a loom and start trying to produce our own cloth. You could have just said it was hair brain.

Aw shucks...
Sean, you misconstrue. I was trying to show an example of what competition the Hudson Exclusive Loom Project (HELP) was up against.

Ok I feel better now. Having taken the effort to hire all those retired ladies to help us I felt you were trying to rock the boat. Those old ladies need love too Dave......and we get yards and yards of material that we can ship late to customers and even loose in shipping so remember that....there is fun to be had....

Farm it out, you could have the exact material made in India or China for less than $1.00 a yard.
That would leave more time for the 308" aluminum-block project.

You know I went this route and they could not duplicate the fabric.

The fabric from china would probably be full of lead.

Yes and not much is cheap over there unless you are producing 10 million of something.
