Hello,

I have never owned a Hudson, but I do recall my grandfather had either a old Nash or Hudson. I have been told both from family members. Anyway, I have grown fond of Hudsons for quite some time now. I really like the 51 Hornet and the racing history of it. The new Disney movie CARS really did a good job using that as part of its story line. I am really interested in reading some good historical books about how Hudson got into the car business on up to when Nash and Hudson merged to make American Motors Corporation. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

LAAMobile

Hey LAAMobile,

welcome to our Hudson site. There are a few good books out there about Hudsons. I will list a few to get you going.

Hudson the Postwar Years 1946-1957 by Richard M. Langworth (a great book)

Roy D. Chapin: The Man Behind the Hudson Motor Car Company by JC Long (This book covers the early history and formation of Hudson)

The History of Hudson by Don Butler (pretty dry really just a catalog of Hudson models)

Hudson Automobiles 1934-1957 Photo Archive (Photo Archive) by Byron Olsen (A nice photo book of Hudson cars)

Hudson 1946-1957 Performance Portfolio by RM Clarke (A nice series of reprints of car magazine tests of hudson cars from 46-57)

This should be enough to get you going and really informed on this great marque.
