Here is a perfect example of colour being everything to the finished product. The 46/47 Hudsons have always looked dumpy to me but with the right colour and skirts they can be made to look pretty nice. I IMHO only two colours are going to work. This red and the dark green.

Look at this 46 in red it looks nice. In two tone blue it looks like a whale.

After the war, everyones 46/47 models were just rewarmed 41/42 models. Skirts would definitely make this car more bearable to look at. However, the dash board was a really cool design. The 8's ran whisper quiet and had a nice, deep tone.

Add skirts to the same model and instantly it starts to look pretty good.

Deeper red is a better color for this car. And the skirts make it look long and low. Very nice.

I can't believe what a difference the skirts and the right colours make to this car. It looks great as shown above. Put the wrong colours on it and it looks simply awful. Its an unforgiving body line. I have the brochures for this line and the car is shown in red and green so Frank must have been thinking the same thing.

In this case, it's the skirts followed by the color. Just like with a woman, the right clothes, make-up and embellishments can make all the difference. Face it, the rear fender design was all wrong. Thankfully, skirts have come to the rescue to save the day.
