Hi, I have no clue how to start a blog or even worse post pictures into it so I will start here by saying that I have begun the task of stripping and cleaning the car . Next will be some rust repair as the outside frame rails are shot as well as a spot on the front drivers floor and a spot in the trunk. I have posted pictures in the Hudson gallery and will continue to do so as time goes on. I will then start installing the drive train. A 400 smc with a turbo 400 and possibly a Granada rear. I am going to do a disc brake conversion on the front. The goal is to have the car appear as a fairly stock Hudson only about 2 inches lower. The dash area was/is in very bad condition from weather so it will be completely redone. The rest of the interior will be redone in a tuck and roll resto rod style. I will probably build a small console in front of the bench seat to house my floor shifter and maybe a coule of guages, AC outlet...who knows? My goal is to have a nicely done car in a rest rod look but keep a limit on the spending. I'm not into a high dollar trailer queen. This car will be driven and enjoyed. More to come...Jim

Hey Jim,

thanks for the update. When you get more pics upload them to the gallery here. Its quite easy just click on the gallery and in the left menu at the top you will see upload picture. All there is to it. Or if you like you can email them to me and I will add them for you.

Sounds like a nice project. Are you going to weld the car to a rotisserie so you can turn the car over to sand blast it and weld in the new frame rails.

I'm not sure where to upload the pictures to...just the regular gallery? It would be nice if members had their own place on this site to have pics stored. Any how I have thought of a rotisserie but don't have one. It would be very handy. Might have to build one. I like the one I saw on the HET gallery that had wheels. ..Jim

Hey Jim,

you can have your own gallery. Click on gallery then in the upper left corner menu you will see item "Create /order my albums" this will take you to a screen to create your album name so name it anything like Jims Hudsons or whatever. Then when you choose upload picture from left menu be sure to drop down album pick box and find you own album then browse for picture and add it. It will show up in your own album.

As for rotisserie it will allow you to do the work without lying on your back seems to be worth the effort to make.
