Here is a nice looking Commodore 8 sedan which looks to have had a nice resto job done. Starting bid of $23,500 means we will be seeing this listed quite a few times.

Looks very nice. What's up with the primer firewall? Red dash looks nice...was this stock? Sadly, the interior isn't blue. Wink

Yup there are a few things going on there that are not right. Firewall should be body color and I think the lower part of the engine looks green, maybe that is just the photos.

You're right, the engine block looks green. Ah, maybe it's just mold and will wash off. Rolling Eyes

None of these high opening bid cars have gotten single bid. The convertible nothing, the 48 nothing, this car nothing.

The price is not bad but such a high bid and still a reserve you can buy these cars privately and work out the deal without a lot of ebay crap.

I bet the local Realtors run when these folks want to list their houses... for twice what they're worth. Just like in Real Estate, if you price something too high, it will stagnate. If you want action, start below market and you'll usually get a bidding war.

Did you notice the spot on the driveway, under the front of the car?

Yup I wondered about that but until I get the samples back from the lab I won't know what they are.....

Folks,

here we have a return engagement. This nice looking Commodore 8 is back. I still think its a nice car some of the detailing is off like the dash painted body colour instead of woodgrained. And that woodgrained dash looks nice on these cars. Still nice car.

It is nice looking, but what's with the firewall color? Do you think the Cadillac behind the Hudson belongs to the seller (I'm retired...must sell...) or the toots biting her finger nails and taking pics? I agree with your comment on the woodgraining. It looks better than paint and is sharp when well done.

Good looking car, other than the few boo-boos as far as correctness. it hasn't been on the road in a while, that inspection sticker on the lower left of the windshield is 25+ yrs old. They started using 2 stickers in NY about 81 or 82, IIRC. Could be that it was restored since it's last go round on the road, and never put back on the road. Does the babe go with the car? Strange color.

If this car hasn't been on the road in 25 years, someone has lots of work ahead of them. What's wrong with the color of the babe?

she needs a little sun, the car looks as if it has had some sun, kinda faded looking. Isn't the correct colour a little warmer, not quite so orange looking?

Harley used a kind of orangy-red in the 50s, the name was "pepper red" when it's by itself, it looks red, but when there is anything else red around, it really looks more of an orange.

I'll email the seller and have him send the toots down to you for a tan. I think the (car's) color is a tad off. The angle of the sunlight in the pictures makes the rear end look very orange. Still, a ncie car that's had lots of work performed. I wonder that the interior looks like.
