Here is a link to a tool every Hudson owner should have. A 3 arm hub puller. These things come up on ebay every so often but the bidding usually goes up on them. Its the only safe and non destructive way to get your rear brake drums off.

And a link to a second one on ebay. I would watch these and bid and hope it does not run up.

Is this a common tool for cars of the era or something exclusive to Hudson?

This is a common tool. Fords and Chryslers can use it too. I lucked out and got mine brand new never used in its own case for dirt cheap. I have seen these regularly go for 100-150 on ebay.

To bad you'll never use yours. You'll have to send it to me and I'll break it in for you.

Already used it and I love it. Takes the drums off the right way i.e you or the car don't get hurt in the process.

If I ever have the occasion to remove my drums, and they're stuck, I'll know who to call. Aren't there more modern tools out there that can do the same thing?
