Hmmm....
minuses....
It needs everything, basically, restored, to some degree.
Love the door panels.
Love the heater hose routing. yikes!
It looks to me that the floors *might* be soft.... I like stepdowns, but not stepthrus...
aircleaners not correct, but okay, probably added from a 54 motor, hence the red paint.
way older resto...
needs hard to find door trim...
The pluses...
nice color.
seats are useable!
looks to be all there
rare car
SWB coupe!
it's a super wasp, so it has the higher end trim on it, baby hornet....
Al in all, what do you get for a 10K BIN? is it really that overpriced, even if it needs some welding? I would think that if it is solid, then perhaps the 10K is fair, if it needs some perimeter work, floors, etc.... then maybe 7K at best. I kinda would be scared....

Nice wooly door panels, made from old socks.
Heater hose placement = rear carb heater mod.
Step on down...to the ground.
Sell or trade the air cleaners for correct ones.
Nide brittle copper fuel lines = pending explosion.
As opposed to the 49 Super Six coupe that's on the E right now for a BIN of $15k, this one looks like a bargain at $10k.

Yep for 3K I could have this looking like a sweet ride and purring like a kitten. The 49 is a dogs dinner with a pie in the sky seller. Look everyone I have a "super rare" coupe please gimme lots of money then spend another 15K to make it a nice 20K car. Please, please be that stupid....

I'd take the 53 over the 49 anytime. Better overall condition and price. And, since they made fewer of them, the 53's are more rare. Why some people waste their time listing cars at outrageous prices is beyond me.

Thats because they like to relist them 7 more times before they figure out it isn't going to sell. Someone should create a guide for these fools that lists what it costs to restore one of these cars. No one is paying 15K for a car that will cost 15K more to restore resulting in a 30K car which is worth 20K at best. Of course if you plan on keeping it 10 years then selling when Hudsons have sky rocketed maybe you have a chance of getting your money back.
I recently saw a Hotrodded 49 the guy said he spent 100,000 dollars on work and was selling for $49,999 after listing for a year. 50K loss which shows you that hotrods are personal cars and maybe not appealing to anyone other than you so selling maybe a problem unless you are going to Barrett Jackson.

These must be the same people who, as kids, kept sticking their hands in the fire. By relisting a car over and over again, it gives a bad impression to someone who's tracking it. I understand that sometimes the right buyer isn't in the market at the same time the item may be. Well then, what are the chances that buyer will show up in a week? For Chrysler's sake, pull the listing and wait a few months before relisting. And just like with real estate, the primary reason cars don't sell is that the price is too high. People need to start with a reasonable expectation and price the car accordingly. Obviously, many sellers don't have a clue regarding shop rates and material costs respecting car restoration. I get the impression that some sellers have low expectations of what a car should be and believe that everyone else thinks the same way. If it were up to me, I'd be running around the country giving goofy sellers an Exlax brain enema.
Although hot rods aren't my cup o tea, I'll be the first one to acknowledge the time, effort and money some of these guys invest in their cars. I agree, rods are done to a very specific taste. As such, you either build to keep or as a way of bleeding money.

Looks like someone bit on the BIN price. Hope it goes to someone who will be a good caretaker.
