The usual search will render a lucious, juicy water melon red coupe. Enjoy!

Some iffy stuff on this one the aircleaners are dented and they have been painted over even to the extent of painting over the decals. I think Twin H was added to this car as the engine block in the correct red but the intake is gold.
Contrary to the ad the interior is correct for 54 and looks original.
A rebuilt Hydromatic shifts smoothly which leads me to believe this one was not rebuilt correctly.
Other than that I wouldn't kick it out of my garage for burning oil. Nice car with right care it will be nice.

Here's one you drive, enjoy, and work on as you go, addressing each issue as a mini project, until about 5 years from now, you decide to do the paint and body. Interior is useable, engine needs detail work, probably needs some chrome, this is a #3 driver.
It will got for about $15-17K, which is more than that coupe I had the chance to buy here, in PA, (but sold on eBay for 13K) but for the extra, you get a heckuva better car, in a better color.
I think we can agree that this would be a good starting point, for someone that knows they got about 5-7K to spend to bring it to a real nice #2.

From the external balancing tube on the intake manifold (and gold color) I would agree that the Twin-H as added to the red/1954+ block. Also, the Hyrdamatic would shift rough if the linkage weren't adjusted properly. This car is exactly what the seller is using it as, a driver.

| I think the gold is just gas stains. Also, if it wasn't originally twin h, It adds value. It would be nice if the aircleaners were nicer, like non dented, but it's all there, and can be fixed.

I certainly wouldn't mind having it. I think that with the limited resources available to them at the time, Hudson did a remarkable job with the styling on the 54's. However, I'm not hot for the floating tail lights and dash pod.

I honestly love the lines of the 54 but if you pick the wrong color combo the cars line sucks. Have to choose the right colors to bring out the lines. The light green seems to look really nice on this car and the Toro red.

I like the lines, too. I just don't like the tail light treatment and dash pod.

| If I had this one, I would get it straight, and paint it black...

Sean,
I hope you don't mean green and red together. If so, why not throw in some yellow and have a traffic signal on wheels.

Nope I mean separately the Toro red with a darker red roof looks nice and the green with coral roof looks really good.

I guess prospective buyers felt it needed work and that showed in their bids.

I think that the circle of people who would buy this car are not going to buy cars on ebay. They are too knowledgeable about the problems so will only bid if they are close and can see the car in person. Plus a large percentage of HET members do not use the Internet.
