This is what I started with:

and this is where it's at now:

What can I say? I've got hot rod blood in me...
Does anybody have a picture of what the original vin tag on the firewall looks like?
This car is located in Williams Lake BC. It sits on an S10 extended cab frame, has power steering, power brakes and is motivated by a Pontiac 350 with 2 speed auto. Was missing the drivers door so I found a passenger front door off a 29 Essex that filled the hole. 26 Studebaker front fenders, 28 Chev rear fenders, 35 Chev grille shell and a 3" chop.
How do you like me so far?
Thanks, Gerry

Wow looks pretty nice so far. Are you going to paint it or leave it natural.
Like the old school mags.
I will find you a pic of the vin plate

This is what your vin plate should have looked like.

Thanks for the vin tag picture. Thats a pretty new looking item to put on my car. I found my vin on the frame by the cowl on the passengers side. Is there anywhere else it would have been stamped. Is there anywhere I can decode my vin? 1269258 I was told it was a Hudson but someone at a car show insisted it was an Essex. From what I've been able to find they were both made at the same place with the same parts possibly at different times of the month or year? Things were different then....
Thanks again, Gerry

Yup Hudson and Essex are the same. Some would argue semantics but its the same parts. I will look up your vin and get back to you.

Awww, Man! I love it!
The true sign of a shade-tree junk man. What a great way to recycle.
And it looks "done" to me...slim

Thanks Slim. I still have a few things to complete so as to pass a DMV inspection so I can put plates on it. I'll make sure to stick to the type of build that I have done so far. Heres a couple more pictures.
