I swear to the Almighty, this is the truth!
There is a pass over the continental divide a hundred or so miles from here that goes up over 11000 feet above sea level. It is 8 to 10 miles up from the bottom at about 6% grades going down 7 miles on the other side. Many places have no guard rail and it's a gorgous, very exposed pass.
The last mile or so on the west side, you can see for miles and miles, and although I crawled all the way down 35-40 taking the turns with seldom touching the brakes in gear, I kicked her in Georgia Overdrive (neutral) when I could see no other cars were comming.
The car will get up to 60-65 quite comfortably on the freeway and I have new radial tires which really helps. Doing this was scary though, with the highway noise and Amys' screaming reaching a cresendo at the same time. Man! I actually saw the speedo reach 80MPH before I started to tap on the brake to shut 'er down. The fenders were a'shakin, my hands were white knucklein' on the wheel. By the time I got it together (with Amy's help) to find the camera, get it out, and take a picture the speedo was down to 70--no big deal. You'll just have to take my word for it.
Don't tell anybody...slim Embarassed

I may have or may not have gone over 100 in my 51 Hornet of course we are talking hypothetically here. Haha officer just kidding I was not on the highway in Manitoba heading home in the evening of a beautiful day and I was just cruising at high speed. Nah I meant I was doing 60. Shocked
