Hey Stone, that´s the typical story... 8 years ago I bought my Hudson and I thought it was a great car for a great price. Well, it turned out that the engine block was cracked, and the body was a bondo queen. It took me 7 years to restore the car... I got a 1951 308 engine from Sweden, lots of parts from ebay, joined the HET club, got a new clutch from Doug Wildrick... and now it´s finally running so well that it took me those 2000mls to Power Meet in Sweden and back... all it needed was two quarts of oil and one new turn signal bulb!

Oh, at some time during those 7 years I watched "Grease". Now the Hudson has a dual fishtail exhaust with flamethrower and a fog machine! Mr. Green

The orange sticker goes on the passenger side of the cowl above where the Hood hinge is located. I have not seen many on the later Stepdowns but your 49 would have had it located there. If you look at the pic above it would be located on the gold portion of the cowl by the hinge.

No problem. Love the fishtail exhaust. Do you know Roland from Sweden he is another guy on here who attends a lot of shows in his Blue 51 Pacemaker.

I do not know Roland personally but I probably saw his car if he was on Power Meet. Here´s two of the Hudsons I met there this year... one cool stepdown...

Nice to meet you here! And nice pics from sweden! Västeras is one of the best meetings which we can reach without using an airplane...

If you visit OSW (old style weekend ) outside of gothenburg,you can see more Hudson than in Vasteras.please take look from that event on my homepage
