Looks like an ok project. I would be surprised if he gets the opening bid.

Seems like a good car but no shots underneath and it obviously needs floors as he has a photo of replacement ones. Could be a good project for someone as you said.

I also saw this last nite... this car is about 30 miles from me. I`d like to know where your going to get a complete repaint and an interior with headliner for $3K like the ad claims... Pictures are weak, but it looks like all rust in the back floor.... when they offer patch panels, it`s sort of the writing on the wall. I will call this guy and let you all know... Art

If the frame rails are rusted then its not worth the effort unless you are a welder.

Talked to the guy tonite... he say`s that there is about 30% rust and No door panels. Asked about the frame, says he doesn`t know. He`s done the brakes and has the motor running good. He will be sending me pics of the under carriage and trunk.
He told me of different people to do work and all under $3K and the car would be worth $15K... lol I told him to do it right it would be alot more and at his price you would have about $20K or more in the car.
I told him if it doesn`t sell on E bay, I would look at the car in the next 2 weeks. He`s pretty anxious, could be a good deal, but not at $6,5K, I`m thinking somewhere under $4K, if the frame is o.k.. Am I thinking right Sean ?

Hey art, seems strange that he has the floor panels but doesn't know what the frame is like. I saw one of these in the flesh for the first time 2 weeks ago, it was a black one that had been in New Zealand since 54 and was a Canadian right hand drive car. It looked real nice although I must confess to liking the 51,2 and 3's more. Did you manage to sell the 32 yet?
Cheers Mike.

Canadian right hand drive? Canadian cars are left hand drive.

Hey Mike,
We`re taking the 32 up to Daytona to the Turkey Rod Run in a few weeks were there will be serious buyers who can see the car and drive it. Should be better to sell there then to field phone calls from an ad for the next 1-1/2 years. Who knows, we might find a nice Hudson to take back with us! Cheers, Art

Yeah, I wondered about that myself, but that is what it said on the info card. Did they do any assembly for shipping outside of Canada in 54? The interior certainly looked all original right hand drive/dash etc. Maybe it was an export car that finished up in Canada.

Good luck selling the 32 and finding a Hudson Art,will be looking forward to seeing what you finish up with. I know what you mean about calls from adds. I have been advertising my H2 Kawasaki on our equivalent to ebay and have had so many tossers emailing me I have taken it off. I will probably take it to the classic meeting you went to at Pukekohe if Feb if it doesn't sell before. A guy I know sold his H1 to an English guy last year.

Export cars that were right hand were done in England. In 54 Canada did not assemble Hudsons. If it was a 54 Wasp maybe but usually the cars for right hand were done in England. That is not to say it could not happen as 54 is a weird year for Hudson anything and everything happened as they merged with Nash.

Do you think any cars got sold off the trucks and under the table when they did the merger?
I knew an Indian dealer that told me of some Chiefs that were sold to him that were destined to another location when the factory was going out in 53. Delivered to him by mistake and he waited for the factory to call them back and they never did. Great profit margin on those bikes!

A lot of strange things happened to inventory in 54 and 55 so I am thinking yes. I also heard stories of dealers who went with AMC then AMC drops Hudson in 57 so they have Hudsons on lot and are selling at a half or third of what worth new as people thought they would have no dealer support. Guys picking up used convertibles with couple grand miles on them for $500.

Were they shipped to England as left hand drive cars and then changed over? This car was a Hornet.

I have heard rumblings that they were converted at Tilbury in Canada then shipped I have a lot of docs from Tilbury so I will check this out. Very interesting. Do you have any pics?

Serial number off the car would help as well.
